It's rather difficult to tell you anything, because nowhere do you appear to have told us what you're taking. And, that does rather affect the interpretation of labs. But, in a general sort of way, I'll do my best:
Total Thyroxine (T4) 62 (58- 161
) - pretty useless test, doesn't give any information that can be used by the patient, or even the doctor! More important for researchers, I gather.
) - if you are on thyroid hormone replacement, this would be considered too high. The aim of thyroid hormone replacement is to bring the TSH down to 1 or under.
Free Thyroxine (FT4) 14.2 (11.5 - 22.7) - 24.11% - If you're taking NDT or T3, this would be acceptable. But, if on T4 only, it would be much too low - and certainly too low to be euthyroid.
FREE T3 3.4 (2.8 - 6.5
) - 16.22% - if on any sort of thyroid hormone replacement, this would indicate grow under-medication. Most hypos need their FT3 up in the top third of the range. Also too low to be euthyroid.
FT4 : FT3 Ratio 4.2
- pointless calculation, ratios have nothing to do with hypos, they are for euthyroid people. Hypos need what they need in the combination they need.
Reverse T3 (rT3) 0.41 (0.14 - 0.54
) - waste of time and money testing rT3, it doesn't give you any useful information.
Thyroglobulin (TG) <32 <=40
- test for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, this is negative but does not prove you don't have it.
Peroxidase (TPO) <14 <=34
- same as above.
Pituitary TSH 2.04
/Thyroid gland free T4 . 14.2 - I have no idea what these two tests are, I've never seen them before. I would be glad if someone could enlighten me! lol
Thank you. This is really very helpful. Th results are those of a friend who is NOT on any medication but bears all the symptoms of Thyroid disease. I have advised him to join this site and get urgent advice. Thanks once again - and a better, happy New Year!
