Latest blood work TSH.. 0.01

Quick run down, thyroidectomy in 2019 for toxic graves put on T4 175mg then reduced until I was on 50mg,..had hyper symptoms along with gastric symptoms (lactose intolerant, colitis) on T4 for approximately 7/8 months.. No improvement in bloods.. Put on T3.. On that for over 4 months.. Had symptoms of hyperthyroidism but not as bad as on t4..new endo decided to take me of T3 put me back on T4 heres my results after 21 days of being on levothyroxin lactose free Teva..

TSH... 0.01 RANGES... 0.30....5.50...mU/L

T3..4.30...RANGES..3.10...6.80..pmol/L

T4..18.09..RANGES..11.00...22.00.. Pmol/L

I needed to come off T4 as my symptoms were hyper so bad.. Gp let me have 2 days of T4. As one day 24 hours was a blood test hence these results. I went back on T3 at 10mg on per day on Monday this week and yesterday and today I have stated with very bad tremors and sweats I'm constantly shaking very exhausted not sleeping, I knew the longer I stayed on T4 the worse my hyper symptoms would be even at a low dose.. Can anyone shed any light on these last bloods.. 😭

Have you tried to split your pills?

I have 20mg tablets I'm splitting this in to ten.. So should I split it again 5mg and take one in the morning and one at night? I've to stay on 10mg until my next blood work in 5 weeks time.. I have slightly hyper symptoms and that's only from 5 days of being on the T3.. really bothered the more I take the worse I'm gonna be... Also I'm waiting on a cortisol test.... Can having low cortisol affect T3 intake?

T3 will lower your TSH .

I take (2) 5mcg T3 and I also take (2) 50mcgT4 and I split my dose out through the day.

Here is example of my thyroid schedule:

4:15am (1/2) of 50mcg T4 and (1/2) 5mcg T3

11:00am (1) 50mcg T4 and (1) 5mcg T3

9pm (1/2) of 50mcg T4 and (1/2)5mcg T3

I take full dose at 11am because thats when I need the meds the most. I use a pill cutter to cut the pills and pill holders with times marked on them to have them ready to go when its time to take them.

I use to have issues with palpitations when I took my T4 and T3 at once splitting them helps a lot, all you can do is try if it doesn’t help maybe your taking too much.

Do you take any other non- thyroid meds? Antidepressants can interact with thyroid meds and cause palpitations... Learnt this the hard way!

The low TSH was on T4 I had bloods done before going on T3, I'm on 10 mg per day take the full dose in the morning but it makes me slightly hyper where as T4 made me totally hyper had to come off them.. As I said the TSH at 0.01 was on T4 for 21 days thats all I could stand being on it I was very hyper..Im not on any T4 just T3 doc wants me to stay on this for the next 5 weeks, then do bloods again... I'm slightly bemused why being on 10mg T3 can make me feel jittery I've been on it since Monday.. I felt better when of all thyroid meds 🤷‍♀️ as I said waiting on ACTH test so I'm wondering if low cortisol has an affect on T3, T4🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I have low TSH from T4 alone and with T3 no matter what meds I take my TSH is always low (thyroidectomy)....

Try taking you T3 twice a day 6 hours apart (for me seems to be the best).

Based on your labs you don’t appear to be over medicated.

Yes, low or high cortisol will affect how your body can utilise thyroid meds.
