61 y.o female - yearly physical/ thyroid treatment

Hi-would like opinions on my labs, please.

I take 30 mg of NP thyroid (natural desiccated thyroid)daily. Did not take Thyroid meds morning of labs.

TSH 5.07 (0.40-4.50 )

T4- feee 0.9 (0.8-1.8)

T3-free 2.6 (2.3-4.2)

T3 reverse 15 (8-25)

Ferritin 95 (16-288)

Vit B12- 956 (200-1100)

Vit D 25-OH total - 57 (30-100)

You probably feel regularly exhausted with those low thyroid levels. At least your TSH reflects this (what your GP will recognise), so hopefully you can ask for treatment if you were self-medicating up until now.

It'd be helpful to know about your antibody levels. If you have Hashi's (most likely scenario) this situation is going to decline until you receive adequate replacement.

30mg of Np is a starting dose. You are undermedicated. Hopefully your doctor increases your dose. I take 120mg of Np.

How long was the gap between your last dose of NP thyroid and the blood draw? What time was the blood draw?

Blood draw was at 7:00 am and gap was 31 hrs.

OK, so that was too long a gap. It should only be 24 hours. So, you have a false low FT4 that. Not that that matters much at this point - you're under-medicated, anyway - but something to remember for the future.
