I’ve been taking Metavive (porcine) for the past year and a half. I haven’t been feeling too well on it for the past few months and a few weeks ago I added T3 to it (6.25mcg). I felt a bit better but I became overmedicated when I took my second dose of Metavive in the afternoon. I only took T3 once as I had a problem with the fillers in it. Due to being overmedicated, I missed my Metavive dose the next morning, then went back to taking it normally as I thought I was okay then. Since then my heart kept racing and I appeared to still be overmedicated so I kept missing doses.
From then on, whenever I took Metavive my pulse rate would get too high. In the end I decided to stop taking it until I felt like I needed it, as I was obviously still overmedicated.
It has gone nearly a week now and I still don’t feel like I need to taking anything. My pulse rate is still higher than usual, although it’s more stable now and I feel like I have more energy. I don’t know if I should still not be taking anything. I have ordered some other brands of T3 to try and I was wondering whether to wait for them to arrive and start on that slowly and not bother with the Metavive anymore. But I don’t think I should start on it if my heart rate is still a bit high?
These are my recent blood test results from before I took T3:
FT4 8.5 pmol/L (12-22)
FT3 3.5 pmol/L (3.1-6.8)
TSH 0.15 miu/L (0.27-4.2)
The blood test was taken early in the morning, but I took my last dose of Metavive at around 2.30pm the previous day, as I've always had trouble leaving it until night to take it.
If anyone could offer advice, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
