Just wanted to hear from people who also have diabetes along with hypothyroidism
So I’ve posted a few times on here so I won’t bore everyone with my woes but a very brief overview
Diagnosed very hypothyroid 2017 I take 20 Liothyronine and 125 thyroxine I have the dio2 gene variant also take b complex vitamin d magnesium selenium
Follow a keto diet
Also have PCOS too
I haven’t felt well for 3 years on and off but thought it was my thyroid then they diagnosed PCOS too
See an endo who is good and prescribed dual therapy
Symptoms came back worse in April this year dizzy no energy massive weight gain periods stopped and haven’t restarted Stretch marks on tummy very bad upper abdominal bloating I seriously look 9 months pregnant sweating headaches pain in legs back ache constipation no motivation just feel awful struggle to get a deep breath cannot stand the heat ..
Checked for Cushings was normal
Bloods showed nothing Had all done including all vitamins etc other than dio2 gene had hba1c fine in April was 38 and also beginning of August was 41 So not even pre diabetic
Had a fasting blood glucose last week this was 8.8 and my hba1c had gone to 46
I’ve got to mow have a glucose tolerance test as they think I’m diabetic I didn’t think it could come on that quick?
Can anyone relate to any of the above does anyone have all 3 conditions
I feel like I’m falling apart at 42!

I have beebn hypothyroid for 35 years and diabetic for 13 years. Don't think I can offer any consolation though as, generally, I feel very well. Bigger problem for me is stomach over-acidity.
At one point, I suspected I had PCOS (it was ruled out as my testosterone levels came back low-normal). I suspected it because I had problems losing weight despite being on thyroid hormone (I have Hashimoto´s), hirsutism, and highish blood sugar and insulin levels. So I did a lot of research and found out about this supplement called Hyponidd which is an ayurvedic formula used to treat PCOS and insulin resistance/newly diagnosed T2. I am usually wary of supplements, but a few have been scientifically proven to work as well as prescription drugs (ie Berberine vs Metformin), and Hyponidd does seem to work very well for these conditions. I have been considering adding it myself (for my blood sugar/insulin), but am trying to find out if it will also lower my testosterone levels (which I don´t want). A recent DUTCH test (dried urine complete hormone test) confirmed low T levels (previously confirmed by blood), and the accompanying report suggested considering supplementing T so I definitely do not want to lower them further).
From various forums visited, I gather many women with PCOS and irregular cycles successfully combine Hyponidd with M2 Tone (also made by Himalaya).
I think Himalaya more generally makes excellent products. A friend of mine has successfully used their product Diabecon for weight loss (after trying Metformin without much success and unpleasant side effects). Unfortunately, I cannot take it since I have high blood pressure (medicated) and it contains licorice root known to raise BP.
I don't know how much you know about all this or what your Endo is prescribing. It appears that they can't do much to reduce Testosterone only increase female hormones to compensate.
PCOS often causes insuline resistence and in turn diabetes, They say losing weight helps but near on impossible to do but more excercise can help. My daughter took Metformin to bring periods back but soon gave up because of side effects but she did get pregnant. I am on Spinolactone which is a water tablet but has a side-effect of reducing Testosterone but that isn't working, I am well past Menopause and it wasn't as much of a problem for me when I was younger with more female hormones except difficulty getting pregnant. I guess you can only talk to your Endo. Feel for you.
Hello there thank you yes I wondered if I was in perimenopause but they say not but def symptoms have got worse the older I get I only got told I had PCOS at the age of 40 but suspect I’ve had it a lot longer I’m quite well clued up on it and been saying for months something isn’t right
I was on metformin For PCOS but had to come off it to have all my hormonal blood tests done since coming off it my periods stopped so they then had to give me something to induce my periods so I could have my tests done! But metformin I felt never did anything for me I gained weight def not lost it on metformin and it just gave me an upset tummy Slow release
Testosterone was high as expected on my last bloods
Not sure really I know there are a couple of treatment options but I think they now think it’s diabetes too so will need to see what they think x
I wasn't diagnosed until 65, male pattern baldness and hair on face, very high Testestone, prediabetic. Obviously always had it but with normal periods it was never diagonosed, became obvious as female hormones decreased. I was on hormones for a while but that makes me feel awful. Good luck with that all. Any miracle cures let us all know.
