Hi

I have just received an email from the u.s pharmacy where I get my medication from, see below:

We have received the following letter from RLC Labs on August 25th and have therefore stopped selling all strengths of Nature-Throid for now:

RLC Labs, Inc. is dedicated to the health and safety of our hypothyroid community. As our number one priority, we want to ensure that you are aware of our decision to issue a recall of all unexpired lots of Nature-Throid® (Thyroid USP Tablets) and WP Thyroid® (Thyroid USP Tablets) that are currently in commercial distribution. This recall has been initiated because testing found that certain lots of these products may be sub-potent (i.e. contain less than 90% of the labeled amount of liothyronine or levothryroxine).

We have voluntarily decided to recall all unexpired lots in the marketplace to ensure that patients only receive product that meets our high quality standards.

As of this release, we have not been notified of any adverse reactions from patients related to this recall of Nature-Throid® and/or WP Thyroid®. We are currently working in tandem with the FDA to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

You are encouraged to contact your prescribing health care provider to discuss next steps. If you are currently taking Nature-Throid® or WP Thyroid®, you should not discontinue use without contacting your doctor for further guidance and/or a replacement prescription.

We appreciate your understanding. If you would like to contact our team directly, you can do so at 877-797-7997 or through our website at getrealthyroid.com/contact-...

For all who take this medication, I hope that this is useful for you.

I contacted RCL months ago regarding potency issues, I wrote to them twice, never had a reply. Their Facebook page was also full of complaints too. I'm sure they've had many emails regarding adverse effects from many patients. When I started the new 3 grain tablet, I didn't only go downhill it caused extraordinary body pain I couldn't sleep with. My hands and feet burned and it felt like extreme nerve pain. My mobility was badly affected. I quoted the lot numbers and expiry date, but they never replied! I was lucky to get a 50% refund from the pharmacy I use.

Some of your symptoms resonate with me. I haven't felt well on it for a while now, I just put it down to needing to find mt sweet spot.

Scared now due to having to go back on Levothyroxine.

What is your situation; what will you do?

Hi, I'm currently taking Tru Thyroid, in my 4th week now, but think I may have to increase the dose again. It's been getting my temperatures up, not normal yet, but I feel so tired and my vision is blurry and have double vision at times, running eyes. It's really hard to motivate myself to do anything. I take T3 with NDT anyway, but I had a terrible crash, temps down to 35.2degs I couldn't sleep with, I kept having to get up have a warm drink, then take a T3 sublingually. Last night nausea and feeling very hypo woke me up, it's been a few weeks since that happened. I had put my thermometer away, now I'm going to check my temperatures again! Really disheartening to read other posts where lab results have dropped on Tru Thyroid.

I admit I don't feel as well as I did on Nature Thyroid when it was working well.

Regarding all that additional pain when I took the 3 grain tablet of Nature Thyroid for the first time, it's taken me weeks for the sensations in my hands to normalise, the bottoms of my feet really swelled up, but now that has actually improved, although not 100%.

Not what you're looking for?
