I am switching over from Nature Throid to Thyroid-S tomorrow. My grain that I take is 195 of Nature Throid. Well, the Thyroid-S are 60. Do you think it will make a huge different if it is a little low instead of cutting pills? It makes me nerouvs cutting pills as I am not sure if it truly is exact when cutting them. Or does it not matter? I have never cut pills before and not sure if the dosage is exact. These thyroid s pills are grainy it looks like.
Also my husband takes Nature Throid and he increased it a half a grain and is feeling more energetic but he says his scalp itches. He said he is feeling good with the increase though. Has that happened to anyone?
Thank you so much. It is not fun having thyroid issues and I wish I did not even have to take, but I am blessed we have it to take so we can feel better. When I went through chemo it messed my thyroid up. I am blessed more than I deserve.
Thank you so much you guys for all your support. I feel you all understand exactly what we go through.
Love, Debber

You will have to find out for yourself if your dose of Thyroid-S is enough for you or not...we seem to react to meds differently depending on the fillers used. I am on Thyroid-S, have been for a couple of years, and am very happy with it. I have cut Thyroid-S pills in halves (using a pill cutter from the pharmacy), and they split very nicely, no crumbling whatsoever so nothing lost. They can also be cut in quarters if need be.
I have not used Nature-Throid, but have noticed that when I am slightly under medicated I tend to itch all over.
Thank you, Anna. It's so nice to know you are doing well on the Thyroid-S. I took it today for the first time and I have had no adverse results so far. Yes, I split the pills and I did the same, got a nice pill cutter and I am impressed with how they cut. I am really pleased with the way the cut and the price of the Thyroid-S and the amount of tablets we get. I wish I had known sooner. I was doing on good on Nature Throid but I never really felt I was 100% there with it but much better than being without it. I know it is too soon to tell, but for some reason I am feeling really great today. I hear it has a time release in it and I wonder if that is it. I will definitely keep you posted when a few days goes by. Thank you so much for your input. I want to gather as much knowledge as I can to make this smooth transition.
When I went through chemo, it messed my thyroid up and it was horrible. I was falling in the shower from the temp of the water and my body. I had no idea that this was all related to my thyroid. I went to doctor after doctor about it and no one gave me an answer until this one doctor. She was my doctor and she is forever in my heart. She passed 2 1/2 years ago and I sure miss her. I had always been infertile and never knew why and always enormous amounts of hair in the sink and drain on a daily basis and cold all the time. I would walk around with turtle neck sweaters on in the summer, 80 and 90 degree heat still cold. I was finally diagnosed when I was 42. I just thought that was the way it was. This goes undetected by so many. I often wonder how much more productive I would have been if I felt better. But rather late than never. Love to you my friend!!! <3
I wish you all the luck in the world, you deserve it after everything you've been through!
And good luck with the Thyroid-S, too! I hope it will work just as great for you as it does for me...I agree, it's amazing how many pills we get for around 100 USD, instead of paying twice as much or even more for prescription NDT which may not even work as well...
If you don't take the same dose how will you know whether you are undermedicated or having an adverse effect to Thyroid-S if you don't feel well? It doesn't matter if you are unable to cut in 4 x exact quarters.
True. I will cut it then and stay with the same does. I cut them last night and I have to say they are very nice to cut. I thought it would go dusty on me but it didn't. I'm impressed with the Thyroid S. I took it today and I am feeling great. Nothing so far. FIngers crossed!!! Thank you Clutter so much. xoxoxoxoxo
I'm contemplating swapping to current lack of WP, & was trying to find someone who's experienced Thai NDT, a few weeks ago.
I had dreadful itching from even the smallest dose of Thyro-Gold, but no reaction when I temporarily swapped WP to Nature Throid. I did read after I'd given the T-G away, that some people use antihistamines to counteract side effects like that, but it was too late to see if it worked.
Well, today was the day I took it and I am cutting the pills, the Thyroid-S. They are very nice to cut too. I got a really good pill splitter and I thought it would turn to dust but it didn't. They cut very nice these pills. Also I took my dose this morning and I am feel great so far. I have not had anything different today. I know they say it takes awhile to know (for me it's usually about a week for some reason). I will be posting to you. I really like the Thyroid-S. It's so much cheaper. I get 1,000 tablets for 90.
