So there is a shortage/no availability, effective September 2017, of Nature Throid and WP Thyroid.
Does anyone know what the next closest NDT or even mild synthetic option, would be? I thought Armour Thyroid, but ive read so much that while it's believed to be natural, it's not? Besides when I took it for four days, I had chest pains so sharp and scary I am nervous to go there...
Thank you so much all. I'm only on a beginner dose, 1.75g, but it doesn't look like NT or WP will be available for awhile and when it is, I fear the rush on it may jeopardize the quality of what becomes available. May need to just take something else altogether.
Thank you for your time.

Some like Erfa Thyroid from Canada although it has been rumored to work less well for quite some time now; there have been rumors about a reformulation, just what happened to Armour back in 2007.
Then there is Thai NDT; both Thyroid-S and Thiroyd have their fans. They are ordered online and don't require a prescription. They are also very cheap compared to most prescription brands of NDT, but I don't know if cost is an issue to you.
Hi Anna69...thank you so much. I forgot about NP. I will look at that. It's 323am here and I'm up, can't sleep, trying to think of my next move/how to deal with this shortage situation. I don't think the shortage will last too much longer, but I'm super nervous about what Nature Throid s makers will deliver, in light of their now being rushed to produce.
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I will look at that link right now....
Hi Jacrjacr. Thank you for your reply. Would please elaborate? My research indicates that NP is made by Acella. Whereas, NT and WP are, both, made by RLC.
you are so right....sorry...I have had 3 hours sleep and working...lol....they gave me acella np compounded which comes in capsules instead of tablets but it is weaker than nature throid and I feel the difference......2 grains of it is 120 instead of 130 nature throid 2 grains and it is amazing how that little bit can make you feel so undermedicated but hard to get dr to increase it....without all the dr appts and test which is crazy...but my pharmacy said there is such a demand for acella that they are having a hard time filling all the prescriptions and they just got it in.....and so my order has been with them a week already.....they gave me a 2 week supply to start
I’m sorry that the weaker NP is throwing your progress. This is alarming all around. Seems the companies that didn’t have a shortage, may confront one, in the effort of filling the needs of patients directly effected by the RLC shortage. I don’t know what we will do.
