After my regular pharmacy insisted they could not get Nature-Throid in any strength whatsoever, I decided to ask at the Walmart pharmacy because unfortunately I had to go there anyway.
So, 20-something girl says, 'Oh yes, I am familiar with NDC's.' Okay, I should have known we were in trouble right there. (natural desiccated cochon perhaps?) She looks and looks and looks into the computer screen and declares that they can get it, it would just be another brand. LOL
I explained that I was specifically looking for RLC labs Nature-Throid and sent her about her task once again. Nope, no go. Can't get it in any strength. I explained that RLC is shipping the 1 grain tablets for sure, but she insisted that even if that is true, they have no access to them.
Then seeing that I was not giving up, she tried to be super helpful and asked, and I quote, 'Have you ever tried Levothyroxine?'
Sorry, I just found that hilarious.

I filled out the RLC contact form and got a reply that they cannot answer specific requests because they have been overloaded with ppl asking. So that tells me many are still having significant difficulty obtaining RLC products. I really think I am going to switch to NP if I can.
RLC really aren't handling this well. They obviously aren't back to manufacturing levels they were at prior to the lab upgrade and change of supplier. They should be honest with their customers.
There was a lack of honesty originally when they posted that the upgrading of their manufacturing facilities coincided with a bunch of unexpected orders for their product. They have been leading us along forever, probably hoping we don't jump ship. I agree, they are not handling this well. So when they claim to have not changed the formulation, who can believe them? It might be true, but you cannot rely on what they say.
In the US they ran advertisements for milk with the 'Got Milk?' slogan. We could do a 'Tried Levo?' t-shirt. I'm sure it would start a lot of conversations, lol.
I wanted to blurt out, 'Has anyone since 1950 NOT had to try Levothyroxine first?' But I just mumbled something about there being more to that story. It wasn't worth wasting my breath on Walmart...
Trust me I feel your frustration too . RLC has handled it from day terribly . It's become a trust issue now . The ones that where able to get hold of some Nature-Throid claim it's not the same Natire-Throid as the ones we got to love and work for us well from day one . I don't know what RC is thinking . Patients know BEST !
Have you thought of getting NDT from Thailand ? Or switching to synthetic T3 ?
Thanks your your reply and suggestions. I actually have sourced NDT from Thailand and T3 from Mexico. When this whole shortage thing started it made me want to take control of my medication as well as my health.
I have a prescription (US) for both NDT & T3, but between the shortage, and endo's office that can't get an rx correctly called in to save their lives, and wanting to experiment with different dosages, I got my own. Also I thought it might be nice to have extra of a life sustaining substance around, as I've had a TT.
I was only on Nature-throid for 6 months, it was the first NDT I tried. The Thiroyd from Thailand seems fine in my case as well. Too bad for the people who are sensitive to formulations though. RLC is cutting their own throat.
I have pretty low expectations for Walmart overall, I guess I was delusional thinking the pharmacy might be better? lol I guess I won't be going there...
Your SPOT ON . I had TT myself too . And after finally finding an Endo who gave me a script for Nature-THroid it turned my life around . It was short lived a bit longer than you . I'm glad to hear that Thiroyd is working for you well . You are so very right . When one has had TT our constant fear we live with is running out of our thyroid meds . Our life totally depends on our thyroids in a bottle . There is something very comforting knowing that we have a big stash just for times like this . RLC lost all their credibility as far as I'm concerned .
I see my new GP in a month. I think I am going to ask for an rx for NP. I've seen good things on here about it. And there is no reason my insurance company shouldn't be footing the bill. I don't mind buying my own extra, but I shouldn't have to pay for all of it.
When the shortage first got bad, my endo's office farted around for a week saying that this pharmacy had it, then no this other pharmacy has it, etc. Then they screwed up the dose and so the rx was wrong even if it had been available. I ran out of NDT and they called and instructed me to take Levo until I got an rx. Yeah, right. My regular pharmacy called and they had 25 pills to tide me over. That's when I got mad and went all Thailand, lol...
