Can you please help me evaluate these results (normal range in brackets):

Iron (Fe) 132.9 μg/dL (35-160)

TIBC 327.5 ug/DI (227 - 427)

UIBC 194.6 ug/DI (155 - 355)

% Saturation for Iron 25 %

Ferritin 123.7 ng/mL (13 - 148)

Folate >20.0 ng/mL (4.0 - 19.9)

(Folate is probably high because I take B-Complex)

Also, in my complete blood cell count, these two were slightly out of range:

RBC (Red blood cell) count 4.19 x10^6/uL (4.20 - 5.80)

Large Mononuclear white blood cells 10.20 % (2.00 - 10.00)

Thank you!

These are optimal levels for an iron panel according to web.archive.org/web/2018083...

Serum iron: 55 to 70% of the range, higher end for men - yours is 78.32%

Saturation: optimal is 35 to 45%, higher end for men - yours is 25%

TIBC: Low in range indicates lack of capacity for additional iron, High in range indicates body's need for supplemental iron - yours is mid range at 50.25%

UIBC: Low in range indicates that you may have too much iron in your blood which may be due to iron overload syndrome (hereditary haemochromatosis). High in range signifies iron deficiency - yours is 19.5%

Ferritin: Low level virtually always indicates need for iron supplementation; High level with low serum iron/low saturation indicates inflammation or infection; High level with high serum iron and low TIBC indicates excess iron; Over range with saturation above 45% suggests hemochromatosis - yours is 82%

High folate is said to be OK when B12 is also high.

Your RBC is very slightly below range. This is what NHS say about low RBC:

I can't help with the Large Mononuclear white blood cells, perhaps your GP can explain.

Thank you SeasideSusie! In the link with the optimal levels for iron panel, it says that a minimum saturation of 30% is required to successfully treat with T3. This worries me since mine is 25% and I've started taking NDT. Do you know how I can increase saturation?

Do you know how I can increase saturation?

No, sorry. You've probably gathered that iron can be complicated, you don't have a problem where you need iron supplementation so maybe that is your normal level of saturation and you may be fine. If it was me I would continue with NDT and see how things go. But, of course, that's just my opinion.

SeasideSusie, I've continued with NDT, increasing it once more, and am really not feeling well again. I have written a new post on this, and I would really appreciate your opinion.
