Oestrogen dominance testing

A week or two ago I read an interesting article on oestrogen dominance posted by a member on this forum and recognised a lot of the symptoms, so looked into testing.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience or thoughts as to whether the following saliva test is reliable, or if working out the ratio from progesterone and oestrogen blood test results is better:

Due to squeamishness and rubbish peripheral circulation the finger prick tests aren't viable for me, and I have to travel and stay over in order to get a blood draw first thing in the morning (for the thyroid bloods taken at the same time). This means I have to plan and book in advance to keep costs down, but have highly inconsistent periods so therefore am unlikely to manage to have the test at the correct time in the luteal phase to check for oestrogen dominance (as I understand it). So therefore the saliva test would be much better if it is reliable and accurate!! Thank you

The gold standard for hormone testing is the DUTCH test, which is a urine sample. It costs about £250 though...

I'm under the impression that oestrogen should be tested early in the cycle and compared to progesterone taken 7 days before your next period, so I'm not sure if this is the best way to test it.

I'll be interested to see if anyone else has tried the kit though - I also suspect I have hormone issues but my blood tests didn't show anything (not that I really know how to interpret them)

Thank you for that, the DUTCH test does look really comprehensive, but expensive like you say. It is so complicated with hormone testing! I just want to make sure I spend my money and time on the right tests, and give samples at the right time in my cycle to ensure the results are valid.

I will let you know if the results seem sensible and useful if I decide to go for the oestrogen dominance kit
