This may be pushing the boundaries of this forum, but does anyone know much on cortisol? The blood test came back quite high, and my estrogen is low. Any help much appreciated.
(Oestrogen is <50pmo/l, range is 114-1959, cortisol below is 814 nmol/l, range is 133- 537)
I can't help you I'm afraid but for those that can they will need to know the time you did the test as that range is time specific.
Excellent point! It was around 0840 am, so within that range. I’m going to be asked to go to an endo xx
Your cortisol level is really high, cortisol taken at that time of day should be between 350-550nmol/Ls. What symptoms are you experiencing? A level that high is suggestive of Cushing's syndrome, this poster shows the symptoms - you don't have to have all of them. Thank you! Severe weight gain (especially around my stomach causing horrible stretch marks) , fatigue, moodiness. But my thyroid was low when doc under medicated me. Doc is calling tomorrow and hoping to see an endo- would an endo be the right person for cushings? Thank you again
