Before seeing Endo – 100mcg of T4 & self-medicating 25mcg T3
22/01/2019
TSH 0.01 (0.27 – 4.20)
T4 total 76.5 (66 – 181)
Free T4 14.50 (12.0 – 22.0)
Free T3 4.97 (3.1 – 6.8)
T3 removed at request of Endo at beg Feb (due back to Endo end July) – 100mcg of T4.
since removing T3 I have put on a stone in weight – ok some of it my fault over eating I get so hungry, can be as soon as an hour after breakfast (stomach pain and grumbling).
04/06/2019
TSH 1.36 (0.27 – 4.2)
Free T4 15.1 (12.0 – 22.0)
Free T3 4.0 (3.1 – 6.8)
I am going back to GP next week to see if he will increase my T4 but not sure if based on these results he will? What should I say? I will be having another blood test before seeing the endo so in about 6 weeks time?
I am taking supplements B12, Folate, D3, Omega 3.

But don't be surprised that GP or endo never mention gut, gluten or low vitamins. Hashimoto's is very poorly understood
suggest you see GP and insist on vitamin testing while requesting 25mcg dose increase in Levothyroxine
Point out your low FT4 and FT3 dropping at each test
New NHS England Liothyronine guidelines November 2018 clearly state on pages 8 & 12 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when treated with just Levothyroxine
Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking Levo thyroxine
B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast
Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks ).
Or Jarrow B-right is popular choice, but is large capsule
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Eating liver or liver pate once a week, plus other iron rich foods like black pudding, prawns, spinach, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily vitamin C can help improve iron absorption
so coeliac test is negative
Trying strictly gluten free diet is the only way to know if you are gluten intolerant rather than coeliac
You still need to discuss dose increase in Levothyroxine
Levothyroxine recommended doseage is minimum of 1.6mcg per kg
You might be able to use this to argue for dose increase depending on your weight
Just a quick up good visit to GP last night he has increased my T4 by 25mcg hopefully by the time i see the endo in 7 weeks all should be settling to get a good idea of where i am med wise and hopefully this will stop some of the weight gain i have also re joined WW to monitor what i eat more closely. Thanks to all for your continued support
Such good advice from here . Just add about gluten. I gave up nearly 2 years ago and lost the awful hunger pangs /pains I would suffer within an hour or so after eating a meal .
I could never wait if my food was a bit late . However that symptom settled and I have ‘normal ‘ meal times now .
