The usual recommendation is to start with 1 grain (60 mgs) then raise by 1/4 - 1/2 grain every two weeks or so. You should be keeping a daily journal (nothing fancy) listing 3 pm body temps and heart rate, NDT dosage, any other pertinent information and how you are feeling, generally. At six weeks, your dosage should be about 2 grains (120 mgs) and time then to get labs done.... Free T3, Free T 4, antibodies and check iron, B12 and D3.
If everything has gone well, you may still increase another time or two. Most end up dosing between 2 and 3 grains. Your journal will help you find your 'sweet spot' without going too far. Be sure to note the alleviation of any hypo symptoms. Mood, energy, sleep and digestion should show signs of improving.
If you begin to feel anxious, experience insomnia, elevated heart rate, body temp, time then to back down to a lower dose of NDT.
