Latest Medichecks results

Levo Dose alternate 100/75mcg

Taken early morn before medication, fasting and omitting all vits a week prior

Current symptoms

Ringing in ears

Weird balance feeling

Sometimes:-

V. Cold

Tingling in fingers

Heart palps (odd time)

Cold hands

Had episode of Raynauds

Had allergic reaction to Vit C (took too much) hot red face for an hour...this has happened 2 more times but not because of Vit C unsure what caused it...

I can see my Ferritin needs improvement

It has been suggested to me to try a loading dose injecting B12 ( my levels look to have increased since starting sublingual B12 so is injecting necessary?

Not sure what to do now to address other symptoms??

Advice really appreciated x

Levo Dose alternate 100/75mcg

TSH 0.264 (0.27 - 4.2)

FT3. 4.51. 3.1-6.8

FT4. 21.4. 12-22

These results show FT4 is 94% through it's range and FT3 is only 38% through range, so not balanced and indicate poor conversion of T4:T3 at the moment.

However, our February results:

TSH 2.34. (0.27 - 4.2)

FT3. 4.43. 3.1-6.8

FT4. 15.6 12-22

these show a very different picture and looking at your profile it seems that you have Hashi's. Are you addressing the Hashi's by adopting a gluten free diet and supplementing with selenium to try and reduce the antibodies?

Fluctuations in symptoms and test results is common with Hashi's and this is the likely cause of the difference.

However, looking at your nutrient levels:

Active B12. 155. (37.5 - 188)

Folate. 19.8 (3.89 - 26.8)

These are both good.

Vit D. 85.8. (50 -175)

- previously 97.1

This has reduced. What dose of D3 are you supplementing with? Are you also taking the important cofactors magnesium and Vit K2-MK7?

Ferritin. 48. (13-150)

- previously 14.1

This is improving but still needs to be up to 70 for thyroid hormone to work properly.

Thankyou for quick reply...

Yes

My antibodies are currently

TPO. 153. <34

TGAB. 303. <115

20th Dec

TPO. 199. <34

TGAB. 579. <115

TPO was >1300 when diagnosed Oct 18....I gave up gluten then and am 90% dairy free (using goat butter/milk)

Vit D

I take 3000 with MK7 and Magnesium however I was taking 6000 so might have to up it again

Iron

I’ve started eating a bit of meat

Also taking Optiferin C by Pure Encapsulations ...., so this seems to be working, so I’ll carry on

Do you think I should carry on with the Levo dose I’m on or look into NDT or adding some T3?

Thankyou

Iron - I’ve started eating a bit of meat

I'd try adding some liver, liver pate, black pudding and other iron rich foods to boost your level. Doesn't have to be much, I raised my ferritin successfully by eating 120-140g liver weeky, but as you're also taking a supplement then you could possibly just eat it once a fortnight, it should make a difference.

Do you think I should carry on with the Levo dose I’m on or look into NDT or adding some T3?

I'd wait until all nutrient levels are optimal and then see where your FT4/FT3 lie.
