Hi all ,only wrote once before on this forum. I was diagnosed was hypo in 2017 ,my thyroid was totally flat . Also got a scan and my thyriod had shrinked .I was put on eltroxin and suffered for 9 months .with every symptom sore head ,neck ,feet, legs arms in all joints and muscles ,bowel bladder problems heart ,eyes ,tremors .cramps , Muscle twitches ,stomach .dizziness , not sleeping well or sleeping to much, fatigue the list goes on . Anyway I weaned myself of the eltroxin and most the symptoms stopped .all my results are good tsh t3 t4 free t3 free t4 vit vit b and all the rest to . All the symptoms were coming and going 1 at a time bouncing around my body by this time I'd seen 3 endo specialists .so about a year and a half after been diagnosed I done a Lyme test sent it to Germany and it came back positive the Lyme attacked and infected my thyroid and has very very similar symptoms as thyroid problems ..starting meds tomorrow along course of antibiotics for a year and hopefully get back on my feet .. just thought I'd tell yous my story and not to be stuck looking over and over you thyroid results. Thanks for reading this. Hope it might help someone . From Hopeful 39 year-old dad of 5.

Thank you for posting your experience. Lyme gets diagnosed far too infrequently. In the US, most labs are entirely unreliable with false-negs & false-positives. I question while Lyme is being tested, why other tick-borne diseases aren't also tested at the same time.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks so much for sharing what works. Question: What antibiotic was prescribed / effective? What led to Lyme discovery?

Thanks again for sharing.

Hello. I am currently on triple antibiotics and probiotics .8 types of supplements and vitamins immune booster and ldn (low dose netroxne) a lot of meds. How the Lyme was discovered. The doctors told me they had no idea what it was and at the start thought it was auto immune prob. My symptoms were severe for some one who's thyroid was working fine .I got x-rays ,scans lots of blood samples urine samples etc put nothing showed up.seen 3 endo specialists and 3 doctors . So I was talking to a fella in the local hardware store and he told me that he had the same problem a few years before and got diagnosed with Lyme .he suffered multiple organ failure and had no power in his left side . He had a long list of problems and tests and doctors could find nothing. He told me were to get my bloods done and that were I am now..hope this was of some help

Please contact me if I can help you in any way.

Did you get tested for this on the NHS? My doctor is so dismissive. Thank you

Hi.no I had to go private .. my doctors would not take me on here either. Got a private test done with armin labs Germany cost was (€580). Then I sent the results to a specialist in Dublin. It's got common around here now (donegal Ireland ) so the doctors are starting to tune in more.. please don't be afraid to contact me again if I can help in anyway.

Thanks for posting this Darrenshere. I was bitten when I was 10 yrs and not long after had afever and paralysis of my legs. Recovery was slow but not 100%......this was in 1952 & there was no connection between tics & lyme infection so it was dx as a rheumaticy condition. I was bitten again last June and had a large EM rash plus a few nasty symptoms. I sent to armin labs in Germany and got the dx with advice to my gp on further testing which could be done here in the uk. The tests were never followed up & I was told that I was cured after 2 weeks of doxycycline. This seems to be the NHS gold standard treatment for lyme disease!

Symptoms return frequently .....I don't think they are thyroid related but I just don't know & I don't want to spend another £400+ on more tests........wish I could find an infomed doctor.

I hope you are improving.....good luck.
