Thai brands of NDT

I know these issues have been discussed before but it's usually recommended not to "revive" old threads but rather start a new one.

I've been on Thyroid-S for a couple of years and like it a lot. I briefly tried Thiroyd as it has less fillers, but it did not suit me at all. It seemed to be too rapidly absorbed by my body and caused me to be on a roller coaster throughout the day energy-wise. On Thyroid-S, I feel much more stable, even if I take it once a day.

But I cannot help but worry about the long list of fillers, especially since this is a drug I'll need to take for the rest of my life.

I've read about a fairly new drug called TR. It has a sugarcoating which is said to make it absorb from the intestine rather than the stomach, and this supposedly leads to more stable hormone levels and a more even distribution of T3 and T4. Apart from that, it contains few fillers and binders compared to Thyroid-S. But I have no idea if that claim is true, from a medical point of view...? Also, I emailed one of the Thai suppliers to ask for details, and was told that the main advantage of TR over the other two brands is that it's gluten- and lactose-free. However, if you are not gluten or lactose intolerant, this supplier sees no reason to switch from Thyroid-S if I'm happy with the latter.

Any thoughts?

I might add that it's rather difficult to find reviews on TR, so I don't know if few thyroid patients take it compared to the other two brands with hundreds of online. TR is fairly new on the market, and I guess patients on the other two who are happy with them saw no reason to switch to TR.

I don't think thyroid hormone is absorbed in the stomach, anyway. Most things are absorbed in the gut.

I have been on TR for over a month now having previously been on Thyroid-S. I got it from a Thai pharmacy, it was cheaper than TS & just has a sugar filler, the tablets are bright pink. But it's not working too well for me, not sure why. I've upped the dose a couple of times but I still get tired & achy & I felt so ill around my last period. I wish I just stuck with Thyroid-S. I'm about to contact the pharmacy about it. I wonder if it was exposed to heat on the way to the UK which may have cooked it?
