I thought I'd start a new thread on this specific subject:
I've been in touch with my long-term very trusted supplier of Thai NDT. This supplier has never been wrong about anything conc Thai NDT so I trust this person unconditionally; and since this is also someone taking NDT, I know sh/eknows what sh/e's talking about.
This is the info I just received:
Thiroyd: there are no stocks in Thailand at present and US stocks are dwindling rapidly. Users are advised to stock up asap whenever possible or switch to Thyroid-S. At the moment, it's not known if the mfg, Greater Pharma, has discontinued it temporarily or permanently but, for the time being, it's not being manufactured so sellers won't restock in the near future, nor does anyone know right now if it ever will be back on the market. Suppliers have tried to find out but it seems not even the mfg knows ATM.
Thyroid-S will continue to be available (confirmed by mfg, Sriprasit) but prices may continue to rise depending on the future availability of raw material. I've noticed that the 1000 pills bottle now costs well over 100€ whereas, a couple of years ago, I paid ca 60€ so prices have def gone up...and may continue to do so.
No, but there are two persistent rumours (which may not necessarily be mutually exclusive):
- Thiroyd has been (temporarily) discontinued due to a lack of demand;
- the Thai government has decided NDT drugs must be licensed in order to continue to be manufactured, and the cost of this procedure was the reason TR was continued earlier this year and Greater Pharma (mfg of Thiroyd) still has not decided what to do.
I don't know which (if any) rumour is true, but just wanted to update Thai NDT users about the current state of affairs.
Right now, only Thyroid-S continues to be manufactured and all regular online suppliers should have it in stock as there is currently no shortage.
It's highly individual so impossible to say, really. I expected to do better on Thiroyd as Thyroid-S contains a lot of fillers but, to my surprise, did better on the latter. Somehow, it seems to release the hormones more slowly throughout the day so my energy levels remain more stable without ups and downs.
Some do better on Thiroyd and some may not notice any difference between the two brands. They contain the same active ingredient (porcine thyroid) but different fillers. Thyroid-S contains slightly more T4 and T3 per grain (38/9 vs 35/8.31) so those on Thiroyd may have to decrease the dose slightly if switching to Thyroid-S.
When you see a user name of Hidden, it means that the person is no longer a member of this forum.
We often close posts that were originated by people who have left - there is no point in wasting our time making replies. Occasionally, the thread might still be active and popular and will be left. More often, it is simply a case of none of the admins noticing!
I shall now be closing this post to replies.
