I just got my lab results back ; my tsh was 1.93(0.40-4.50 miu/l), free t4 1.2ng/dl(0.8-1.8ng/dl), vitamin D 37ng/ml(30-100ng/ml)..I take 5000 iu daily with k2 and still can't seem to raise it !!!! vitamin B12 >2000(I'm supplementing) . I'm taking vitamin C, B Complex. celtic sea salt, fish oil, enerphos, baicalin, pregnenolone and zinc for my adrenal and to balance my fluctuating cortisol(mainly low in morning and elevated at night). My issue is that I FORGOT to stop taking the B complex before the test and now the results are skewed. What I would like to know is ; is my tsh and free t4 higher than these numbers or lower than these numbers? I'm definitely still hypo as I still have internal tremors, insomnia(unable to fall asleep and stay asleep; can't even take a nap in the daytime, racing heartbeat and palpitations and extreme hair loss among other things. I'm taking 150 mcg Synthroid. I was taking naturethroid but switched after my tsh went up and my freet4 and freet3 went down .
lab results; I messed up !!!!!: I just got my lab... - Thyroid UK
lab results; I messed up !!!!!
When testing has been compromised by the presence of biotin supplements, results can be either wrongly high or low, but generally they would look odd in some way. As you say you still feel hypo - undermedicated - your results appear to reflect that, with the TSH a little too high and the FT4 a little too low. Your results don't appear compromised, and a problem does not occur universally, only with certain assay methods that react with biotin. If you wanted to reassure yourself, you could contact the lab and ask about likely biotin interference when carrying out those tests.
Difference for me personally was much lower TSH and much higher free t3 and 4 when I didn't stop b complex. First time I stopped b vits for five days before blood test gave me hope as TSH was higher and frees were near bottom of range so I could and did increase dose 🙂
Are you taking your vit d and k2 mk7 with fattiest meal of the day? And not with iron? I would try increasing vit d, I've been taking 7000 daily for 6 weeks and will drop to 3000 one day and 6000 next (I use the better you 3000 spray) for 3 months then re test. My d dropped over summer??? Even taking 3000 a day. Read an article on vitamin d council website, not sure if it was USA or UK, but it said unlikely to go toxic level unless taking 10,000 a day for 12 months. I think I was just too careful before, scared of going toxic 🙄
