I’ve been told by the endo that hypothyroid can alter colour pigments and hair colouring is not advised... 🤔 does anyone else colour their hair? Successfully?

I've been colouring my hair for longer than I've been hypothyroid, and that's 40 yrs. I've been black, blue, red, pink ......... My latest colour was rose gold. I've never had a problem. Perhaps he once read something somewhere, and hasn't updated his knowledge base with regard to the really excellent colourants on the market nowadays.
Yes, I colour mine and have no intention of stopping. I just use henna and indigo.
As one of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is hair greying early, I should think the world is full of hypos with coloured hair. I coloured mine for decades. I've had a few years of white/grey and now come shocking pink because I hate being white and invisible. Never had a problem with the pigments.
I've dyed, bleached and coloured my hair through the rainbow over the decades (original '77 punk! ) and have never had a problem pre or post hypo diagnosis.
Currently use semi-permanent colourants as it produces less of an obvious difference when my grey roots show through!
Awesome, really glad I asked! Thanks everyone x
I have regular blonde highlights, the colour is fine and I feel better than when it’s left mousy streaked with grey!
I regularly coloured my hair from the age of 17 until late 20's. Then started to colour it again when I was 40. Now for the past 8 years I have not been able to colour it due to change from Goldshield Eltroxin Levothyroxine, as I can taste the bleach in my mouth a few hours after having it coloured. I hate being grey/salt and pepper.
Hi, just wanted to say that I use water-based hair colours from danielfieldmailorder.co.uk/
No nasty bleach.
nightingale-56 Grey/salt and pepper nooooo! Its silver and gold j_bee and I love mine!
I've colored & highlighted mine for years without a problem. Never heard this before. I now use a henna because I don't want the chemicals on me & going down the drain. Love henna because it doesn't seem to fade, I can do it myself & leaves my hair in great condition. What I use is just henna & indigo (for brown) without metallic salts & other chemicals added to some henna.
I have never had any problems in the 41 years I have been dying my hair. Currently use an oil based dye with great results.
I am hypothyroid but I colored my hairs after 3 to 4 months. I use Regenepure products one of my friends suggest me about this. After using their hair products I dont have any skin allergy yet because their products are made from original products. If you wanna try then go on reecoupons.com/view/regenepure
