Dr. Michale Murray, has written over 40 books on natural health remedies. I found this one quite interesting as it relates to K-2's role in gut health, anti-inflammatory, heart health and bone health. This is a repost from one a favorite of many GreenMedInfo: greenmedinfo.com/blog/vitam...

I really like GreenMed, too.
Very interesting. I was reading yesterday that many people with gut dysbiosis are deficient in K2 and biotin as these are made by gut bacteria.
Thank you , an interesting read.
Two forms of K2. One from animal sources; Mk-4 & one from natto, a fermented soy product, sold as Mk-7 form. Life Extension Foundation makes a supplement that has K1, K2 as Mk-4 & Mk-7. Never used it. I use Thorne Mk-4 drops. Expensive@$65 per bottle but it can last up to six months, depending upon how much you take each day. If I take 15 or 20 drops(1 mg per drop) it brings up my body temperature and makes me a bit hyper.
What I here about most often is the MK- 7. and if memory serves that’s what they were talking about in this article. And the thought that is so intriguing to me is that it can remove calcium out of the blood vessels and perhaps reverse hi blood pressure and other heart disease related to calcium in the wrong places.
But that is very interesting about the Thorne MK-4. I have to keep my eyes open for that. Many times what is so readily available to you guys there in the UK is not so available here in the US. Thanks for sharing!
You're correct: An important function of K2 is to keep calcium out of the brain and arteries, directing it to the bones and teeth. I read an animal study where mice with calcified arteries were given the equivalent of 450 mg, daily for six weeks, which reversed atherosclerosis. I don't think anyone should take that kind of a dose, everyday, but taking several milligrams or micrograms in the case of Mk-7, daily, over the course of a year, would probably have a beneficial effect on the arteries, IMO.
