We are a thyroid support group based in Newcastle upon Tyne and currently meet twice a year in the autumn and spring.

Our next meeting is this Saturday 3rd November, at Brunswick Methodist Church, Brunswick Place, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7BJ (Behind/beside Fenwicks) Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm.

This time we will be offering some advice about the current situation where patients have had their T3 and/or NDT (Natural Desiccated Thyroid) NHS prescription withdrawn and changed to thyroxine, often without warning or discussion. One of our committee challenged this and has just managed to get her Erfa Thyroid prescription reinstated! :-)

Following this there will be some discussion about thyroxine, T3 and NDTs and an opportunity for you to share your own thyroid experiences.

New faces very welcome!

Contact us if you would like to go on our mailing list or have any queries at thyroidgroup8@gmail.com Please note this address is for enquiries about the meetings only, we are unable to answer personal medical queries.

Hi, If possible I will come along on Saturday. I have been sourcing T3 privately but am now having problems with supplier. Might pick up some tips or info. Can you add me to your mailing list just in case I can't make it and I hopefully get there in the Spring. Many thanks.

Hi Exhausted65, it will be lovely to see you tomorrow if you can manage it. Please will you email the address in my first post to go on the mailing list: thyroidgroup8@gmail.com

as another committee member deals with the emails, or just give us your details tomorrow.

Thanks :-)

Hi, i will message the email address for any meetings. But i am really struggling and need an endo referral ideally but want to try and be referred to someone who may be sympathetic to ndt or t3, though i know it will be a battle! Are there any particular endos in the north east that may be better? Thanks
