The good news is my TPO antibodies have reduced from 338 (000-34) to 28 (yipee, within range!) and my Thyroglobin antibodies have reduced from 2,784 (0.00-115.00) to 700.
The bad news is my thyroid blood test results are as follows:
TSH
0.151 (0.27-4.20)
T4 22.400 (12-22)
FT3 4.61 (3.10-6.80)
I currently take Levothyroxine 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days. I suspect I am not converting well.
My Vits are as follows:
Ferritin 135 (13-150)
Vit D 87.4 (50.00-200)
Folate 17.51 (2.91-50)
B12 Over 300
I also take Ferrous Sulphate, Selenium, Vit D plus K2-MK7, B complex and B12 injections.
I suspect I am not converting very well, my Endocrinologist has retired and my GP does not understand autoimmune Hypothyroidism.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Anne

"GrassrootsHealth and over 40 Vitamin D Scientists recommend achieving an optimal Vitamin D level for disease prevention of 100-150 nmol/L using a 25(OH)D blood test. This is the natural levels that the human body had as it evolved over thousands of years. Everyone should have their vitamin D 25(OH)D blood serum levels tested and make sure they are within these guidelines"
Vitabay makes 20000 i.u. tablets. Make sure you take that with fatty foods.
2. Proper K2 mk7 (most are knock offs (not trans) and being absorbed in less than 30% so go for a good brand)) I bought Life Extension super K. Packs in 100mcg of MK7 and 1000mcg of MK4. On Amazon 60 softgels for £18.99. Take with D3
3. Proper omega 3 like Life Extension Super Omega-3 EPA/DHA with Sesame Lignans & Olive Fruit Extract (60 Softgels). Bought because of Sesame lignans but you can grab more affordable brand. Just make sure it has good strength. Most omega 3 supplements are barely useful. Serving is for 2 softgels but 1 a day is enough. Take with D3 and K2
4. Curcumin (Turmeric extract) with pepper. I crack open the capsule and add ground pepper which increases bioavailability by 2000%. I use capsules because my wife hates turmeric. Take with D3, K2 and Omega-3
5. I've heard Selenium helps T4 to T3 conversion. 200ug is a good dose. Though you may research if higher doses help.
6. Schisandra lowers inflammation and is also good for women. Tincture is best and is not that expensive in UK. It has strong taste so again, missus takes capsules.
Yes, I am pretty sure the gluten free diet has reduced my antibodies.
I am a chef and I have been so happy with the results of being on a gluten free diet, it has inspired me to write a cookery book which I am launching next week.
