Newly diagnosed help with results please

Hi I am newly diagnosed. I take 50mcg levo from 25mcg levo. This increase was made 3 weeks ago. I was told I have hypothyroid in May 2018. I don't feel any different on this. I am 28 years old. The doctor said it would take a long time for levels to improve, my latest results went from overt hypothyroid to normal on just the 25mcg but an increase was agreed as I still felt awful. I now feel like my symptoms are in my head and I begrudge going to doctors for anything related to my symptoms. I am at a loose end about why I continue to feel unwell and that's why I have come here. Advice appreciated. All bloods done fasting, early morning and leaving 24 hours between Levo and blood draw as I have been advised by nurse to have fasting bloods. I also have B12 deficiency, folate anaemia and iron anaemia and D deficiency.

Thanks

You are still under-medicated. You will feel better when your free T4 is around 20, this will bring your free T3 to around mid-interval. Your TSH will probably need to be around 1.0 or less. It will take many months to recover.

Sorry to interrupt.

In Feb this year my FT4 was 13.6 (10-20) and my FT3 was 4.8 (3.5-6.5) this was on 25mcg levo.

When I increased to 50mcg my T4 went up to very top at 20 with TSH 0.6 (0.5-4.4) lab wouldn’t do T3 but with previous results it could be close to top of the range rather than mid range as you say.

It’s all very confusing.

fT3 tends to go mid-interval until fT4 goes high, so your fT3 is likely to be around 5.0. The body tries to keep fT3 levels stable.

Thanks. So looks like at 50mcg I might be in the right place?

Maybe - for now. But over time you may need more.
