it seems I'm way over medicated on 4.5 grains and the reason I'm exhausted is my ferritin?

Please share some of your ideas with me

I've been taking thiroyd for a long time, briefly switch to TRMAN for 6 days, wasn't good for me. Back on thiroyd-

Results

Free T4 1.31 (0.58 - 1.12)

Free T3 5.04 (2.3 - 3.9)

Ferritin 35. 6 (11-250)

Vitamin B12 725 (134 -590)

Vitamin D3 54.26 (30-100)

Can't believe vitamin D is low its baking hot here and I'm tanned all year round.

Can't believe my blood sugar 3 month is 5.9% when the cut off is 6%. I'm already on 2000mg metformin I must have boarderline diabetes

What are the units of measurement for vitamin D?

What country are you in?

If measured in ng/ml that's pretty good, it converts to around 128 nmol

endmemo.com/medical/unitcon...

If it's nmol then, yes needs improving

No folate test?

Ferritin, you can help improve by eating liver or liver pate once a week

Presumably you have Hashimoto's? Also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies.

If you have Hashimoto's, are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Yes vitamin d is ng/ml :)

I'm having trouble with the gluten free diet I'll be honest with you due to hating meat products and lack of time : after three children I seem to have very little time to do anything for.m myself. I'm trying . I'm not sure if it's hashi. It started very young and I was around 5.5

TSH at age 23 and then TSH went very high at around age 26 after my first child, somewhere like 7 or 16 I can't remember . No one said hashimlto. My antibodies have come back negative last time. My mother and maternal grandma all have hypothyroidism

If you don't eat much meat, then ion probably need iron supplements prescribed. GP should test iron levels first

Metformin depletes B12 - have you been tested ?

Well, you are over-medicated. And that could make you just as tired as being under-medicated.

Thanks for your reply grey goose

I'm going to reduce by half a grain then test again in six weeks then reduce again if need be.

Half a grain is too much. 1/4 grain would be better. You don't want to reduce too fast anymore than you want to increase too fast. :)

Cutting those tablets in half was awfully difficult and annoying anyway

Vit D isn't low if you are in the US (looks as though you are for free T4 range and units) - they use different units (ng/mL) and over 40 is Fine. In the UK, they use nmol/L which is why you'll see that levels should be at least high 90s.

My sympathy for your symptoms . High levels of T3 yours is already over range can have a negative impact with our Glucose levels .

As greygoose suggested already lowering your NDT by 1/4g at a time is the way to go . SlowDragon suggestion going Total Gluten Free Diet is Spot On .

Best wishes on your next steps .
