I was told I had Thyroiditis by my obgyn at my 6 week checkup. She told me to follow up with a doctor so i did. He told me I was fine and had allergies. He gave me the tests I asked for and hasnt mentioned meds or anything. So i was hoping for some help here as to what I should do. Get a New doctor to prescribe meds etc...
My mother has graves and grandma has hoshimoto and great grandma had addisons.
I just left the eye Dr today and he said my eyes arent bulging and are fine as of now.
My symptoms are low energy, puffy eyes with pressure, throat pain, and anxiety. It all comes and goes.
I am gluten free dairy free and try my best to avoid soy for about 6 weeks now. I don't use fluoride, filter my water, and I take probiotics and selenium.

wgriffy, I believe that I can only be of minimal help but I will tell you that after my son was born in 2013 I lost a large amount of weight, had unexplained low grade fevers, headaches, depression and also had dizziness and fatigue. I didn’t go to the doctor but they now tell me I had post partum thyroiditis during this phase. I entered the hypothyroidism phase about a year later and was finally diagnosed with a TSH of 7. I have Hashimotos as well. I am managing it with alternating doses of Tirosint (75 one day, 88 the next).
My advice would be that if you can wait, try to see if the hyper phase passes and then manage the condition when it swings to permanent hypo. I am glad I didn’t do anything drastic like drinking radioactive iodine and that I still have a somewhat working thyroid gland in my body. Of course you have to listen to your body and symptoms and press for help if it gets bad. Try not to worry, you’ll come out of this Ok. Heck it may even correct itself on its own, you’re still very early on in the process!
Also you may need iron supplementation, as well as some B12 and D3.
Hi Wgriffy, my first observation is that your ferritin is quite low and this is the factor I think you should concentrate on first - boost it via an iron supplement or by eating a lot of red meat (esp. liver if you can stand it). While your basic thyroid hormone levels look good your antibodies are higher than they should be and were probably the reason why your obgyn said you have Thyroiditis. Keep up the probiotics and selenium, especially the latter as it is the catalyst for the T4 to T3 conversion. And, as thyroidrose said, supplement your B12 and D3 - and I would add Vit. K (which works with D3 to make sure Calcium goes into your bones and teeth and not precipitated into your arteries). Try fixing your symptoms by doing this vitamin/mineral boost first, it will probably take about a month, you might find that your antibodies decline once the vits/mins are optimized.
