please could you help with my test results, they are from medichecks thyroid ultra test. I was taking nature thyroid and my tsh went down to 0.05 and my gp asked me to stop taking it untill she tests again.
Now I am gluten and dairy free, I take selenium, tyrosine and balanced iron from viridian.
I feel ok, but slightly puffy in my glands, if that makes sense and somtimes a sore throat , this started with the nature thyroid, so i didnt mind stopping.

Those results showed that you were hypo and have Hashimotos (autoimmune thyroid disease). That means that your results may vary a lot as the antibodies destroy your thyroid and release lots of hormone into the blood stream, giving low TSH and high free T4 and T3 for a short period of time. After that you become more hypo as there is less thyroid still alive to produce hormone.
Gp was wrong to tell you to stop taking NDT - if your free T4 and free T3 were over range because of a flare, you should reduce NDT for a while. But it's just because she doesn't understand results when not taking levo only and was going by TSH alone. TSH is not really important when on meds as long as it is under 1.
Many people with hashis do better with suppressed TSH as it sometimes helps prevent antibody flare-ups. Going gluten-free and taking selenium may also help.
On NDT you are aiming for T3 about 75% of the way through the range (5.9-ish) and free T4 50% or can be lower (17-ish but not to worry of it is lower as long as free T3 is good and you fell OK), and TSH wherever it ends up when the other 2 are good and you feel well.
I suspect folate and ferritin are also too low but you don't give ranges. Did you get vit D tested?
Thanks so much, no i didnt get vit D tested but I do take a supplement , I also take a balanced iron supplement by viridian that has really helped my aching legs.
Can you suggest a different treatment to NDT as Im sure its giving me a flare up ?
A few people don't do well on NDT, but those results you posted just show undermedication. What were your free T4 and Free T3 results at the blood test when your GP told you to stop meds? The alternative treatment could be Levothyroxine plus T3 (liothyronine), but you won't get T3 on the NHS. Are you completely gluten-free? Gluten is one of the main offenders in causing antibody attacks.
