Blood test results - any thoughts?

Hi Everyone,

In the last few years ( actually since taking bio identical hormones for meno symptoms) my blood results have changed. My tsh remains constant at 1.36 (0.27-4.20) and my t4 is just above range at 24.50 (12-22) my t3 hovers around 4.42 ( 3.1-6.8). My overall protein is always just under range too.

I feel ok ish. Hard to know what is hypo and what is menopause these days. Im a bit hit and miss with my supplements but try to remember vit d, selenium, zinc along with a good multi. I also take sublingual b12 and iron.

Do you think i need t3? Im obv storing t4. Any suggestions for better conversion from t4 to t3?

Also wondering if my low protein is due to malabsorption issues. Went spectacularly off my gluten free diet these last few months so i am sure that didnt help 😮

Thanks! J

Yes, I think you do need T3. You have very poor conversion. Your FT3 isn't even mid-range.

So many things can cause poor conversion. Low nutrients, obviously, high/low cortisol, low-calorie diets, illness, etc. It's not always possible to fix even if you do find the cause. So, to avoid suffering, it's just best to take a little T3 with a reduced dose of levo. :)

Get your vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested. If you have fallen off the gluten free diet, then your vitamins may be affected adversely too
