Am I having a flare-up or hypo not stable yet?

Hi all

I was diagnosed with hypo in Jan 17', and found it was Hasi's in Nov 17'. In the year I have been slowly increasing my levo dose, and in Jan went to 100 mcg, which seemed to do the trick.

Since middle Jan till now, I have been feeling a lot more like myself. In the last 2 weeks some of my symptoms have been creeping back- namely difficult waking up in am; fatigue in early eve; itchy skin; dry skin; brain fog; difficult to get body moving; tinnitus increasing; headaches; constipation and bloatedness. Weight is not increasing, but not shifting.

I do not want to go back to what I went through last year and feeling unwell, and not sure how long to leave it to see if it settle.

My question is does anyone else experience these flare-up's? Should I go back to my GP or just wait it out?

I have an endo appointment on 19 April 18'

My last bloods were on the 31 Jan 18'

TSH 1.44 (0.3-5.5)

FT3 4.4 (3.5-6.5)

FT4 18 (10.3- 24.5)

Vit D 119 (more than 80)

I am taking vit d and K spray; selenium 100; zinc and copper; B suppliment; milk thistle; probiotic; iron

Thank you

Has there been any change in the brand of your levothyroxine? Check the use by date too as I was palmed off with out of date liothyronine for a few months and piled on the weight. The other thing I've discovered is alcohol cancels out the medication and stress does have a negative effect too.

A Hashi's flare-up is when the Free levels suddenly rise, so you wouldn't be getting hypo symptoms with a Hashi's flare. In January, you were under-medicated, so you could be even more under-medicated now.

Did you have your copper tested before supplementing? Hypos are often high in copper, so taking more wouldn't do you any good at all.

Thanks greygoose. Perhaps I should be on higher dose? I felt really good in Jan till now

Yes, but doses rarely stay static forever. And, hypo symptoms returning is a sign that you need a higher dose. :)
