Hi to all,

Just received my Blue Horizons test results after increasing my naturethroid from 2 grains to 2.5 grains. As well as my suppliment's that I take 4 hours after my NDT, which is D3 in a mouth spray, Selinium, CO-Q10, Folic Acid, and every other day I have spartone in a glass of fresh orange. I am gluten free.

Can Seasidesusie, Clutter, Shaws and all you knowledgible ladies help me to understand my results ...

Many thanks

Christina

Christinah61,

TSH is rather high for most people's comfort and although it's not unusual to have FT4 under range when taking NDT most people on NDT feel better with FT3 higher in range ie 5.5 - 6.8. If you are symptomatic you can increase dose to 3.5 grains in 1/2 grain increments at 2 week intervals.

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

VitD is replete >75. I would continue supplementing until April when ultraviolet light is strong enough to stimulate natural vit D.

B12 452 is unlikely to be deficient and folate is very good.

CRP is an inflammation marker so a low result is good.

Have you a result for ferritin?
