My Tsh level was 3.55 and three weeks ago it was 2.94. I have hashimotos with graves, and still on Methimazole 2.5 once a day on Monday Wednesday and Friday.

Crumple what is that? And how is it accurate?

If you have graves and hashi like me you must have had antibodies tested to know you have immune diseasez? Tpo/tgab and tsi/trab. I too take 2.5mgs every day but i know my endo will be saying drop down to every other day soon. My levels were hypo 6 weeks ago that is why the 2.5 dose and just waiting for blood results as i know i need to drop again, you may need to drop dosage again to bring tsh level down and frees mid to high.😊😊

Your condition sounds exactly like mines even with the Blood pressure as I was reading your results on your post.... except I don't take high blood pressure pills since I think it's a white coat thing and the machine they use to check your pulse and high blood pressure. Doctor said I might need blood pressure pills if my heart rate doesn't go down or my blood pressure but it did... I'm not use to ever getting sick but unfortunately my Thyroid acted up in the middle of 2016. I've heard there is a cure with stem cells but would be years before they start using it on people. Thanks so much for the information, it's will needed that I'm following you.

So if you have Hashimoto's are you on strictly gluten free diet?

Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested?

If TPO antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Always get actual results and ranges. Post results when you have them, members can advise

Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels

Low vitamin levels can affect Thyroid hormone working

Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten

According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)

But don't be surprised that GP or endo never mention gut, gluten or low vitamins. Hashimoto's is very poorly understood

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first

Thanks for the information, and yes I've been eating much more better, and being more observant on what is it that I'm eating and have manage to eat gluten free food, and noticed how the bloating on my stomach has gone down, I've always been a slim person, but noticed a gain which I'm sure was hashimoto causing it. Been taking iron and noticed I started my menstrual after I hadn't started in 3 months, I though I hit menopause since I turned 50 this last December. I will have to let my Doctor know even tho she said it could happen that I would start my menstrual, and no concern about it, its after a year if you should start your menstrual that would be a concern. Yes I will look up more on this with all the information I can look up under here that you sent. Thanks so much.

Sarajuarez,

TSH fluctuates throughout the day and night. TSH fluctuating between 3.55 and 2.94 is a small fluctuation. If you test at the same time of day every time you may find there is less fluctuation in levels.

Thanks Clutter for the information. I always appreciate it, makes me understand more and more about what we as sufferers have to learn during this Thyroid Condition of graves and hashimotos and how to deal with it's ups, and down and how to better manage it as well.
