Can see on previous posts you are on levothyroxine and had RAI

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Is this how you do your tests?

How low was vitamin D

How much vitamin D are you currently taking

Essential to test B12, folate and ferritin too

Many people, like me, can knock back vitamin D in amounts of several thousand units a day with no obvious effect whatsoever.

Some people find they cannot take even 100 units a day.

But the intolerant are much fewer in number. I keep shouting for them because otherwise they will, and do, get totally ignored.

I don't know where you are reading that is is poisonous?

Is your vitamin D result in nmol or ng/ml units - can see you are in Australia

Look at supplementing magnesium first

Vitamin D needs magnesium as cofactor

Palpitations are often symptom of being under medicated

Are you taking levothyroxine everyday, on empty stomach and no other medication or supplements within 2 hours?

Vitamin D, magnesium, iron, calcium must be Four hours away minimum

Time gap doesn’t apply to Vitamin D month spray

I do magnesium spray 50 sprays a day

So you say take additional magnesium supplements see if vit goes up?

What units is vitamin D result in?

No magnesium won’t increase vitamin D, but is needed to help vitamin D work.

So yes it is low

Have you tried Better You vitamin D mouth spray...not sure if available in Australia...which would be ironic as it’s made from lanolin from Australian sheep

OK - I thought you were basing your point on what you have read rather than what you have experienced.

I don't feel in the least qualified to answer any points about vitamin D and heart. There is much written but little that you can pick up and apply to an individual case.

29 is low for vitamin D but we have seen lower!

I hope some people who might have personal experience will respond.

Have you had your serum calcium tested? If it's high (due to a parathyroid gland problem), the low vitamin D could be a protective measure -- your body trying to lower the calcium level.
