Hi would like some help please with these high antibodies

I had a test on the 17thOct which I posted, the thyroglobulin was then 753 I had both theses test done with mediceck

on the 17th Feb 18 the result was 1.258 I had the first test done as My GP would not do a test until the year was up so had to wait until Dec, even though I had be very unwell and they had been sent for throat cancer test and bladder cancer test which I new was not the problem

When they tested me in Dec 17 they said I was over medicated and reduced me by 25 mg, when I showed her the medicheck result from Oct she said that just confirmed I must be reduced, so I am now taking 100mg

I am going to write out my test result for this Feb as I post my October results so hope they are still available but will try to put the on as well

Feb 18 Oct 10

TSH 0.391 0.27-4.20. O.081

I hope I had done this edit ok it takes me for ever it's taken me the best part of today you have to laugh

I have been feeling real awful all over swollen face trouble walking sleeping muscle and joint so so cold I would be so grateful if someone could give me some advice

I know this might most likely be that I have Hashimoto does it really get this bad?? am trying hard to keep to gluten free diet it's easy at home, I do not use gluten free things as they are all so full of sugar and salt.

I have had thyroid problem for many year ,I had a mayor RTA in my twenty first year lost my hair about 18 months after that wore a wig for many year was very unwell with both my children and was not diagnosed until after the birth of my second son he is now 36

It has been a very rocky road burst appendix Diverticultis Fibromyalga prolased bladder and bowel I am now 67 yrs and finding it very hard to cope I have no faith In GPs and have never been sent to an endo , but from what I have read on here they sound no better than the GP and before you say change your doctor I have change doctor in one practise and then move to another practice

Which is just as useless the only good thing this one is close

Sorry for going on so I am rather at the end of my rope

Marwari,

You were mildly overmedicated on 125mcg and appear to be adequately dosed on 100mcg. TSH is low-normal and no longer suppressed. Free thyroxine (FT4) is just shy of mid-range whereas it was mildly over range on 125mcg. FT3 4.33 hasn't changed. You are not converting T4 to T3 well and might benefit from some T3 added to Levothyroxine to raise FT3 but are unlikely to get this on NHS and will have to buy your own online and self medicate. It will also make your TSH lower which may then lead your GP to say you are overmedicated and want to reduce Levothyroxine dose. If you want to buy T3 and self medicate Write a post asking members to send you a private message where to source T3.

Thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.

Active B12 >35 is unlikely to be deficient.

Ferritin is optimal half way through range. If the top of range is 150 then you may have some inflammation in the body but is improving as Ferritin has dropped from 227.

Has vitamin D been tested? Painful joints can be caused by vitamin D deficiency.

Marwari,

VitD >75 is replete but if you are supplementing D3 you can continue with it until April.

Serum and saliva Cortisol are within range. Other than that I can't tell you whether or not they are optimal. If you want to know more Write a new post for the cortisol results.
