A few months ago I found a lot of help from you all. and I finally understood where the optimal levels of TSH, T3, T4, iron, vit B12 etc. should be for optimal health.
My blood test of the 30th of September (I had interrupted levo 25 for the last week):
TSH: 2.58
T4: 12.4 (lab standards: 8-24)
T3: 4.1 (lab standards: 4-8.3)
After 6 weeks under Levothyrox 50:
December 5th,
TSH: 0.52
T4: 14.5 (lab standards: 8-24)
T3: 4.2 (lab standards: 4-8.3)
>>>>>> from what I understood, my T4 had to be at the top of the range (ideally around 19). this is not the case, so I will increase my Levothyrox to 62.5 (>> is that correct?)
>>> what do you think of the TSH, somewhat collapsed?
>>> what to think of the T3 remained at the same level?
Other results of 30/09
Vit D: 46 ng / ml
ferritin: 51 ng / ml
Thanks a million times for your help

If you are in charge of your own dosing I would increase dose to 75mcg to raise FT4 and FT3, although I doubt it will raise FT4 to 19. The dose increase will probably suppress your TSH <0.1.
VitD 46ng/ml isn't deficient but it could be a little higher. If you're in the northern hemisphere you need to supplement 1-2,000iu D3 daily Oct - Mar to maintain levels. VitD should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
Ferritin is optimal halfway through range and at least 70 - 100 is usually desirable. You can raise ferritin by supplementing iron which should be taken with 1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Iron should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
thanks a lot Clutter and sorry for the late reply (i live in a country were internet can be disconnected for days
I was really looking forward reading your answer regarding my blood test.
I take note of your advices regarding iron (i started taking supplement 3 weeks agao) and Vit D (i leave in africa, with a lot of sun, and i take already vit D)
I was wondering if, according to you, dithyron supplementation would be more appropriate to me? (12,5 T3 and 50 T4)... If not i also have Cynomel (0,025 mg)... and I could adjust doses according to your advices..
Im afraid that adding levothyox (going to 75) would suppress my TSH without highing my T4 nor my T3.
Also, I wonder why this is happening? i'd love your know your opinion? why levothyroxine is not enhancing my T4? (sorry again for my bad english)
I would increase Levothyroxine dose before adding Cynomel or trying Dithyron. TSH will only become suppressed because FT4 and FT3 have risen higher. Levothyroxine will enhance your T4. 50mcg is simply not enough.
You have no need to apologise for your English, it's very good.
So it is mandatory that TSH gets suppressed when T3 and t4 get higher?
I'am supposed to feel better by increasing levo to 75... what if my t4 doesnt get higher? I'll have to test it in few weeks.
could you please explain to me why you do not recommend to add any cytomel? (even a low dose)
yesterday i received and email from a US doctor, (dr christianson) stating that t4 and t3 shouldnt be on the high range. and that a recent study prooved it could be dangerous
if you have few minutes to read his opinion...i feel confused
There's no reason to think your T4 won't rise when you increase dose to 75mcg.
T4 14.5 is low in range so increasing dose to 75mcg will increase T4 level and that will increase conversion to T3 raising T3 level. If your T4 was high in range and T3 low in range I would recommend adding Cytomel instead of raising T4.
Your T4 is nowhere near being high in range so don't worry about the article. Other doctors think T4 may need to be high in range, even over range, to produce sufficient T3 levels when taking Levothyroxine. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
The Rotterdam Study finds an association between high T4 and atrial fibrillation in patients not taking Levothyroxine. That doesn't mean that there is the same association when high T4 is caused by Levothyroxine.
i did increase my levo to 75 two days ago..when should I start seing improvements according to you?
Also, when should i do the blood test? in 6 weeks?
Im feeling VERY tired, ewhausted actually. I need to do 2 naps per day im 39 years old and feel like 99. Every times i look at my 3 yo child, im worried on how i will be able to live longer
