Hi, I would like your advise on my following blood test results. I am on a gluten and sugar free diet.

TSH 0.34 (0.27-4.20)

FT4 17.20 (12-22.0)

FT3 4.28 (3.1-6.8)

Reverse T3 (H) 28 (10-24)

Reverse T3 ratio (L) 9.95 (normal>15 low <12

I take thyroxine 125 micrograms and 10MCG T3 per day

all iron, ferritin, b12 levels all ok. (Take medication)

Many thanks in advance

Hi - one thing that jumps out is your high rt3. Your body usually produces this as a brake on the metabolism when it reckons healing of some sort is required, to slow you down and protect itself. For instance if you eat too few calories, it produces this to conserve what energy supplies it is being given to ensure survival. Have you any current illnesses or inflammation that could be causing this? Another possible cause for this - but at your dose and levels this probably doesn't apply - is that if taking too much t4, the body gets rid of it by converting to rt3 instead of ft3.

Nutrients - I have looked through your previous posts and can't find any actual numbers for these. What is ok to many doctors just means in range. You will see in this forum that, in many cases, what a doctor has deemed to be ok is actually anything but. In many cases this is actually holding back a return to good health. Do you have numbers you could post?

Hi thank you for your reply.

Ferritin is 85.3 (20-150)

Magnesium 0.86 (0.6-1.00)

Vit D 106 (<25)

B12 520 (>725 reduce dose)

I never feel well :( have always put it down to hormones and thyroid!

It depends how you feel.

If you feel good there's no need to change anything.

If you feel undermedicated or still have some hypo symptoms then there is room to increase your T3. You could add 5mcg and see how it goes, that won't take your FT3 over range.

What about vitamin D and magnesium? Do you supplement

Selenium supplements can help too

Do you split T3 dose? You could take 10mcg in morning and add 5mcg pm
