Running out of ndt, help!!

Hi,

So my doctor won't prescribe ndt, apparently it's synthroid or nothing! T4 alone doesn't work for me and the dosage was too low, so I started buying Nature Throid from a website that doesn't require a prescription. Been on 1.5 grains for 2 years with great results. Website has been having stock problems for the past few months and now I only have 10 days ndt left - no new stock due till November! I'm terrified of having to go onto a low dose of T4 only; is there any place I can get nature throid or another ndt from without a prescription (as my gp refused to write one)?

Any suggestions muchly appreciated!

It's very unlikely any delivery will arrive within 10 days so you should consider getting a prescription for T4 to tide you over until you get NatureThroid or an alternative brand. Have you checked whether the site you use has Armour, NP or Erfa in stock?

I have some synthroid still knocking about from a previous prescription and a script that i never picked up as well so I'll be ok for T4 for a little while. I think I'm going to have to last out till new year as stick is due 11/11 and then Xmas post will potentially slow it down.

Good point about other brands; I handy thought of that and will check it out!

I am in the UK, yes. Do you know whereabouts the list private endos is? I remember finding one on the site a while ago but couldn't find it today (probably me being blind)!

Were you able to source Synthroid in the UK? I never was!

I've been on Armour for a few months. I get it from my endo in Wales... this may be changing soon, though, as I hear rumblings of the NHS cutting off all NDT and T3 prescriptions.

I may have to source NDT myself soon, too.
