Ive bitten the bullet after months of consideration and have ordered a Blue Horizon Thyroid plus 11 kit. My dog has thyroid problems and more rigorous tests than I do on the NHS. I take t3 20mcg in the morning and 10mcg in the evening, and take 25/50mcg t4 alternating evenings. Theres nothing in the kit suggesting a time to have my blood drawn or if I should just take my meds as normal. Wanting to get the very best from the test, any advice would be appreciated.

Blue Horizon Blood Test Advice
Thyroid testing should be done as early in the morning as possible - the earlier the higher the TSH - after fasting over-night. You should leave 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the blood draw; and 12 hours between your last dose of T3 and the blood draw.
Hope that helps.
Only do test on a Monday or Tuesday, or Wednesday at a pinch. Post off straight away.
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Thanks for the sound advice. I dont know where Id turn if it wasnt for this site. I feel abandoned by the NHS. Will post my results as I trust you more than the docs! 👍
Gp surgery refused to allow the vacutainer tube to be used when have my next blood test. It would have taken all of 5 seconds to fill the tube with the needle already in my arm. 😡My kind neighbour is helping out and comes complete with her own tourniquet. Thanks for your advice and will post the results soon.
