I am new and I would like to know why my results fluctuate on the same dose of Levo and my symptoms stay the same? Taking 50mcg Levo and diagnosed 2012. All bloods done fasting and early morning and I leave 24 hours between dose and test. Thank you

Go to member SeasideSusie s page and read her posted answers on vitamin supplementing protocol. You are either low or deficient in all nutrients and they need to be addressed asap.
Also been getting burning in my gullet difficult swallowing and coughing up orange phlegm so GP prescribed me Lansoprazole for stomach acid and was told after having endoscopy my oesophagus is damaged from acid reflux
My understanding of acid reflux is that when people are hypothyroid their stomach acid is low and also Hashimotos may cause some gut problems and imbalance in the PH levels.
As a result, without enough stomach acid people can't absorb enough vitamins from food but also the low acidic level prevents the valve between stomach and oesophagus from shutting tight. This allows acid to creap back up from the stomach.
I'm not a medically trained person so this is just what I've read according to other people more knowledgable than me. Lots of people here use Betain HCL or organic apple cider vinegar with a glass of water before each meal to increase acidity and rid themselves of the problem. Also, many, people with Hashimotos have said that going gluten free has hugely improved gut function and reduced symptoms.
Doctors usually think our problems are with high stomach acid when in fact it seems that low stomach acid is the problem according to people here.
Have a look at interactions for Lanzoprazole, I think you'll find that it interacts with levothyroxine? Are you taking it at least 6 hours apart from your thyroid meds? Even so it may lower the absorption of levothyroxine.
