Vitamin D advice

Hi

On the recommendation of some helpful posters here, I supplemented Vit D when my Medicheck results showed it to be 35nmol along with other results.

I have supplemented with Vit D3 and K2 for 3 months, first with 10k for a month then with 5k daily. I have just received the City Assay spot test which showed it is now 91nmol which is great.

Do you recommend I do not supplement now or take a maintenance dose of 1000 a day? (I work in an office and do not tend to sunbathe as I burn so easily and really don't want to let it get that low again).

I still have fatigue and need to nap late PM but it is not as bad as it was in March. I am very happy to report that the very painful tendonitis I had in my elbows and knees for over a year as well as other aches and pains in joints has subsided greatly. This despite the doctor saying Vit d was unlikely to resolve these issues and that I had to basically put up with the tendonitis as there is little they can do!

Thank you for the great advice given to us here :). Now working on the B12 levels, thyroid symptoms and getting to the bottom of it all still......

Fiona371,

I'd reduce to 2,500iu which I would continue taking through to April and retest then. You may find you don't burn now that your vitD level is replete.

Fiona371,

You can use up 10,000iu by taking 1 every 4 days.
