FERRITIN 74 (30 - 400)

- you need to at least maintain this, even improve it as half way through range is recommended. Eating liver, maximum 200g per week, plus other iron rich foods will help.

Take each iron tablet with 1000mg Vitamin C to aid absorption and help prevent constipaton. Always take iron 4 hours away from thyroid meds and two hours away from other medication and supplements as it will affect absorption.

FOLATE 2.2 (2.5 - 19.5)

VITAMIN B12 338 (190 - 900)

B12 below 500 can cause neurological problems. Check for deficiency symptoms here b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

You are folate deficient, why isn't your GP doing anything about that?

If you have any signs of B12 deficiency take this information and post on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum here on Health Unlocked for further advice then speak to your GP about what they advise healthunlocked.com/pasoc

You need to get your B12 up to the recommended level for us Hypos which is top of the range. Whatever supplements you use then you need a good B Complex also to help balance all the B vitamins.

VITAMIN D TOTAL 60.5 (25 - 50 SUBOPTIMAL)

The recommended level for Vit D is 100-150 according to the Vit D Council. You should continue with your supplement and when you reach the recommended level reduce it to a maintenance dose which might be about 2000iu daily, it's trial and error so it's recommended to test Vit D once or twice a year to stay within the recommended range. You can get a home fingerprick blood spot test from City Assays for that vitamindtest.org.uk/index.html

There are important cofactors needed when taking D3 vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

Check out the other cofactors too.

Other symptoms probably due to undermedication.

Folate is too low and vitamin D is still low despite supplementing. Your body doesn't store folate so you need to eat enough each day or supplement. Your vitamin B12 could be higher in range. See SeasideSusies posts for further information on vitamins and supplements.

Have you got Hashimotos thyroiditis? If so, read people's advice about going gluten free as it helps with absorption and other things.

Yes antibodies are both high

In that case, look at the information about gluten and how it affects people with Hashimotos. Going gluten free can help to reduce antibodies and the attacks on the thyroid and may help absorption of vitamins too.

Most people who are hypothyroid have low stomach acid and you can help to increase stomach acid by taking apple cider vinegar a spoonful with a glass of water before your main meal or some people say they take Betain HCL. Increasing stomach acid will help with absorption of vitamins and minerals either from your diet your from supplements.

SeasideSusies advice to take vitamins well apart from your thyroid meds is right.
