Any practitioners NHS or private in DEVON please?

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I asked this, and am wondering now if anyone knows if there are any NHS or Private practitioners in Devon who are willing to look at the whole range of things in tests, unlike my GP surgery who only look at my T4 levels once a year, despite me trying to explain. I am hoping to find someone who will be willing to alter my prescription if it shows I need some T3 added or all T3, as I've been on 100mcgms of Levothyroxine for 17 years but still have symptoms of an underactive thyroid, particularly exhaustion. Thanks in advance for any support or help. 😊

  • PS forgot to say in line with rules to P M with names if that's okay? Thanks

  • Deeseona,

Why don't you order your own blood tests from Blue Horizon? Thyroid Plus 11 includes all the thyroid tests you need excluding rT3. Thyroid Plus 12 includes rT3 but you will have to use a phlebotomist to draw blood for that test. thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

If you need T3 it will cost you in excess of £258 for 28 x 20mcg tablets with a private prescription. It would be cheaper to buy online and self medicate.

Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endocrinologists and practitioners.

  • Many thanks 😊
