Hi briefly I was on T4/T3 combination but GP no longer willing to prescribe T3 has doubled T4 instead I'm not doing too well! He has agreed to send me for endo appt. Who may be prepared to prescribe T3. Has anyone any experience of a good endo in Sussex area?

Hi Jeanniex, r u in the Brighton area? I was discussing T3 with my Endo last time I saw him (although I'm not hypo so don't take it) and he mentioned that the GPs in the Brighton area had decided they were no longer going to prescribe T3. He said the Endo's didn't necessarily agree as some of them were open minded about T3 (his words, not mine!) but that the GPs held the purse strings. This seems to fly in the face of current research but I didn't argue the point, as it was only a passing discussion (I'm hyper).
Hello hampster1 - yes this is exactly what my GP has told me about no longer prescribing T3 for me I want to 'call' him on it but the constant fighting is exhausting! Your comments about the Endos is heartening so maybe that's why my GP is making me an apt, I think the decision to stop prescribing T3 is a surgery decision, not my GP specifically as he has always been incredibly supportive ( yes I am in Brighton can you PM/e-mail the name of your Endo? ) x
