Help with T3

Hi everyone, good news! My endo has prescribed T3!

He has suggested I cut my Levo from 100mcg to 50mcg and split a 20mcg dose of T3.

Does this sound right?...

What's the best way to take the Levo and T3? At which times?

My latest result:

Blood test results 5 weeks ago

TSH 3.54. (0.3 - 5.5)

FT3 3.7. (3.1 - 6.8)

FT4 25.3. (12 - 22)

TPO >600 <34

B12 1,107 (197 - 771) High!

Vitamin D 92 (50 - 144)

Ferritin. 25 (15 - 150)

Folate. 12.5 (3.8 - 16)

Cortisol. 429 (166 - 507)

Last weeks blood result:

TSH 0.38 (0.3-5.5)

FT4 26.3. (12-22)

FT3 4.1 (3.1-6.8)

Can anyone advise please. I have a digital thermometer to monitor temps and hope to start ACV Organic etc with the 'mother'.

Thank you in advance... You have all been so helpful... Especially when I've got brain fog and can't think straight!

When I was prescribed T3 20mcg my Levo was reduced by 50mcg so that would seem to be what they do. I take my T3 in one go with the Levo early morning. I have been fine doing this but everyone is different and some people prefer to split the dose. Hope it makes a difference for you.

Hi Naz67 I can't really advise as this is the only way I have taken the T3 but hopefully others will be able to help.

Naz67,

20mcg T3 is equivalent to 60mcg Levothyroxine so you've had a 10mcg dose increase.

Buy a pillcutter from your local pharmacy because the T3 tablets are tiny and fiddly to halve. You can take the 1st 10mcg T3 dose with 50mcg Levothyroxine and take the second 10mcg T3 dose at bedtime.

Thank you Clutter .

Wish me luck for tomorrow.... Hope it's the magic pill I've been dreaming of! 🤔

Naz67,

It's not an instant fix but you'll hopefully feel better in a few weeks when your FT3 has improved.
