Well, if I were you, I wouldn't take Epsom salts, it tastes awful! Much better to get Magnesium Citrate. You're probably horribly deficient in magnesium, anyway.
Save the Epsom Salts for the bath, or soaking your feet!
Funnily enough, years ago when I was still titrating my thyroxine dose (and hence very hypo), I tried soaking my painful feet for an hour in a bowl of warm water with a very liberal dose of epson salts dissolved in. It did help soothe the painful feet, but an unexpected bonus was that it had a mega impact on the constipation!
That lead me to conclude that epson salts can be administered transdermally and still have an effect on the intestines. I recall thinking that if soaking my feet for an hour had that big an effect, I wasn't about to risk bathing in it! I never tried it again, so don't know if I just used way too much or if it was sheer co-incidence.
I took epsom salts internally once (i.e. I dissolved the stuff in water and I drank it). The taste... Bleurgh! I would never take it internally again!
There are other ways of taking magnesium for constipation, as mentioned above by greygoose and RedApple.

I'm like greygoose - I take magnesium citrate. But different types of magnesium supplement are useful for different things, as explained by the links above.
I've found having oats plus oat bran very beneficial. I mix 200 g oat plus 100 g oat bran with 75 g of nuts and 75 g dried fruit and eat it as muesli. It works marvels. You can toast the nuts and oats in the oven for 10 mins on a baking tray which I don't do any more as I don't notice much difference
I only took them to help dry up breast milk and they taste awful! I would try anything else first. Dried apricots are good, and magnesium supplements.
I find vitamin C does the trick
