You really need FT4 and FT3 tests plus B12,D3,ferritin and folate to have any idea of whether you are converting the T4 to T3.

That is a very low TSH and on its own a GP would be likely to think your meds are too high!

Doc phoned me said leaving me on 125 mg levo for another 3 months and everything should kick in as my meds are starting to work now but if I feel really bad again I have to go see her as she won't to see what hospital says about my goiter as that has not reduced in size so just need to weight and see what happins

That's good that he did not reduce straight away. There is no quick fix .I was a year before I felt a lot better even though the TSH had reduced from 102 to 1.7 in 12 weeks.

Oh no please dont say that, ive only been on levo for over 6 weeks, doc says im in normal range now basically told me to go away. even tho stil have shed loads of symptoms.......grrrrr x

It can take a while to remove most symptoms - for me it was just over a year on 125mg. They would not give me more when my symptoms will still present but in my case the docs were probably right but in many cases record here they are wrong.

Maybe you will have to have a full suite of tests done privately e.g. by Blue Horizon

That is exactly my problem. My TSH is very low, FT4 mid range, FT3 slightly low but within the normal range. I am on 100mcg of levo, and feeling like a zombie. Gaining weight, eyebrows falling out etc. but to all intents and purpose my thyroid is normal now. The endo doesn't want increase my levo, and T3 is not available on the NHS, her advise is to leave it alone, because I run the risk of osteoporosis. I am not on a high dose of levo for my age and weight. Or I could reduce slightly, and/or add T3. Its my call but it will drive my TSH lower.

T3 is available on the NHS but getting it probably takes an enlightened endo.
