Well done, I also go to Slimming World and recently put on 7 pounds in a week, despite following the diet. Reminded me that a long time ago the week before my period used to put on 7 pounds, which disappeared the following week (I was not on a diet then!). Just wondered if the same thing could apply to you?

You certainly are doing well though, think you will agree it is a good healthy diet and really great recipes.

thank you

my gain is a week after period starts, i go on that week and expect it now, its still upsetting when you see the gain but not as bad if you are expecting a loss

but on a good note even with a gain the support is great

i dont know how i lost any last night, had a massive birthday meal mid week and pizza sunday night (big mistake made me feel so ill) the only thing i can think is ive increased my T3 to the point my heart was pounding so now cut dose back again and going to go on T3/T4 combo

It's good to understand there is a hormonal input to the gain, but reassuring to know despite that you can still manage such a great weight loss most weeks.

Well done you! ⭐️ Get to your goal weight Mandy72 . All the best. 'M'

good on ya girl , never forget there will be 'peaks & troughs ' , but , after every trough you can achieve at least 2+ peaks ..... you WILL get where you want to be with your OWN effort ----- take the deserved plaudits === you've earned them [ with pride ] keep going .... it wont be long before you are there ....... alan xx

Well done Mandy, it just goes to prove Slimming World really does work for us sufferers of underactive thyroid. I have lost 17 lb so far since January. We will get there slow and sure!

thanks

well done to you 17lbs is a fab loss

do you find your losing pretty much if not more than non thyroid people?

PottyDotty profile image
PottyDotty

Not really. The class is very big and weight losses tend to be as high or higher than mine. As far as I am aware, I am the only one with thyroid issues. I have told myself to be happy with 1lb a week and any more is a bonus. I have a very long way to go, but have decided not to set a target as that would put too much pressure on me.

i have weeks when i lose more than a non thyroid person

theres one other hypo in my group and shes doing great and even started doing her body magic

im concentrating on weight loss before body magic

my first big target is 3 stone as set by consultant but i need to shift 7 stone that ive gained since being diagnosed hypo it will take a while but ill get there

i set my weekly targets at 1lb and anything more is a bonus

Well, we will have to keep supporting each other then. My first target will be 2 stone, which is the 10% of my starting body weight, then 1 stone at a time as far as I can go.
