Go girl go! It's a hard slog but worth it. I'm about 60 weeks into mine and nearly 3 stone off! I sometimes want to cry when people lose 3 or 4 pounds in a week but hey ho. Soldier on!

3 stone is GREAT i cant wait to reach that, slowly is the way, i have had better losses than some people there (my best loss was when i was over medicated due to brain fog, i started a T3/T4 combo and increased my T3 as well as adding T4, i was so happy with the loss 4lb but OMG did i feel ill)

keep going we can and will reach our targets

slimming world

the only diet that has worked for me and many others suffering with horrid thyroids

Jayneywales profile image
Jayneywales in reply tomandy72

And me! No wonder you can get it on prescription now!

slimming world is on presription?

Jayneywales profile image
Jayneywales in reply tomandy72

Yup. Under the government/NHS One You programme Drs can prescribe a 12 week countdown. Not that I've met anyone who has been treated this way but it is happening for people who are in danger to their health. It's also being recommended by all sorts of NHS consultants as the way to shift the weight.

my drs have been blaming my weight for a long time, even before i was diagnosed hypo, my first endo suggested a gastric by pass, was given orlistat but never ever have they mentioned slimming world, i only started because my son became a consultant and kept on at me to give it a go, i told him id never lose weight but once it started coming off i decided to stick at it......id never go to another group though

alangardner profile image
alangardner in reply tomandy72

in my view the doctors tend to blame all things medical that they cannot resole on the easiest option that doesn't aplly to THEM i.e. weight ,lifestyle ,diet et. etc. etc. because it takes away their responsibility for not knowing what the hell is actually wrong and to treat it correctly --- the different treatments for thyroid issues from various medics prove this I think .....alan xx

Slimming World but I find that too much carbs don't agree with me so eat lots of protein, fruit and veg. And still have wine at the weekends. Works for me!

Yet another ⭐️ For you. Keep going! 💐

Tell us about the healthy diet you are on, to lose the weight. How are you addressing your autoimmune/immune system disfunction? Surely, you are adding lots of healthy fat and healing your gut?

why dont you look up slimming world if your interested

i post these weekly updates for people who are interested and support me not to give people who are against it a run down on what i eat

i got sick of the post last week and i certainly am not going to put up with it on my weeekly updates

if you cant show support then please dont post

i am FAT and SUGAR free

i lived on fat and sugar for over 40 years and i cant see what good it did for me

good for you girl , I for one have and will continue to try to support you all the way even if only to put a smile on your face or a giggle on your lips with encouragement for what you are doing for YOURSELF .....alan xx

I am just shocked by the differing views of slimming world, as compared to the losing weight, by improving your health..healing your immune system and gut, lowering inflammation, which keeps us fat with autoimmune disease..eating organic, avoiding processed food and sugar, but eating healthy fats. Abvoiding Grains..it was the sugar and chemicals, not the fat, that make us fat...unless it is unhealthy fats..

Some people will continue to believe what we were taught for the past 30 years..low fat, low carb, low sugar..eat margarine, not butter etc..so good luck to you on whatever way you choose to handle your health situation.

I lost 20 lbs, without trying, without counting calories, without exercise..while eating lots of fat and eating organic..you could be able to get off thyroid meds as well..
