Great news about your achievement. Re: Eltroxin, you could ask your pharmacist to dispense a different brand to see if it suits you better.

thanks

im at drs later so will mention it to her although it will be a waste of time as shes hypo and on levothyroxine and has never been ill so i wont get ill on it

i normally get swollen ankles in the summer

i had my liquid thyroxine stopped and was supposed to go back on levothyroxine but asked dr for eltroxin

i think its making me ill, i was semi ok on the liquid but since starting eltroxin im fatigued, internal shakes, chest pains, swollen ankles and starting to feel air hunger again which stopped with losing weight

Why was your liquid stopped? Were you OK on that. Your doctor is very unprofessional disclosing personal information that has no relevance to you. Some lucky people are fine on Levo, apparently, although I have never met anyone who is. Have you had your adrenals checked for cortisol issues? That can affect thyroid hormone uptake. This link explains why:

think it was down to cost, endo said to put me back on tablets despite me telling him how sick i was, i did have high cortisol last year treated for months but had to stop due to lack of funds, now trying to find the money to re test

Have you tried taking an adrenal adaptogens for your high cortisol? There are lots of different ones. I take Jarrow's Ashwagandha. Big Vits website are currently doing a Planetary Herbals Ashwagandha for £6.65 for a month's supply if you buy 2 or more bottles.

i was taking holy basil, jujube and relora but stopped due to funds, i was on 10 of each 4 times a day and it was costing a fortune, ive just ordered a saliva test so hopefully will get some answers

endo demanded i stop the liquid and go back to tablets

i do have a good dr i can call to give me a call back to discuss it

as for adrenals last year i have very high cortisol, dex supression test and 24 hour urine bot ok ruled out cushings but i just couldnt afford to keep treating and now cant afford to re test

i take 1000mg vit c daily in with spatone but can add more

i was really unwell when first diagnosed within a week of starting thyroxine, i was at the drs 3 times a week in tears a/e at least once a month but was never ever taken seriously in fact i did get told i was a hypochondriac at one point

i expect im due bloods so will ask for those to be put on the list

i did great a while ago on NDT prescribed by my dr but my cortisol went up and so did my heart rate 150+ so was then put on t3 only did ok for a while then i couldnt take it

i suspect adrenals is a big problem for me so i need to try and find the money to get retested then money for supplements, last time i was on almost 30 tablets 4 times a day :(

my dr reckons its stress related, i sometimes have the ferritin, folate and b12 tested but they refuse d3

im not due bloods for 3 months

im a hypochondrac who makes things up to get medication according to one dr

i was given counselling after my mum passed away a few years ago and swore id never go back, i was having a total breakdown and the woman sat looking at the clock that was behind me and let me know when we had 5 minutes left

ive been referred to mental health twice and both times the guy i seen said i needed my thyroid sorting

i would say im under a lot of stress with various things, i tend to over think and think of the worst case for everything

this month is the aniversary of both mum and dad so allways a stressful time for me

i also have a 13 year old son who has some serious issues which do stress me out

but i also have 7 kids from 19 down to 10 still living at home

crochet normally helps with the stress but sometimes it can cause more stress

drs dont seem to care

as far as they know im on mirtazapine still but i weaned off them, they were evil and made me gain a huge amount of weight due to hunger

7 is nothing lol i have 4 that have left home and 4 grandbabies

my profile pic is a drawing of all of them we had done about 8 1/2 years ago

in fact my oldest son is the reason i joined slimming world as he did so well he became a consultant so i joined just for support then figured 2 hours a week free from kids so i keep going

i managed to talk hubby into paying for the adrenal test last night

hopefully that will shed some light on whats going on

if its high again i wont be fobbed off with 'its stress' i will be demanding tests
