Gwelos,
Welcome to our forum.
I think your results look perfect. How do you feel ?
There is room for a dose reduction if you feel overmedicated.

Blood results are very dependent on timing! I get an early test (9am) and do not take any medication after lunch the previous day so that the body has settled down. If you take medication in the morning and test at lunchtime/afternoon the result will show the T3 in the blood stream and a very low TSH as a result. I am well medicated on T3 and a dose in the morning and test at lunchtime gave me 0.05 TSH. Last time I took nothing and did blood test at 9am and got 7.0 TSH!! Just a thought. There is plenty of advice on best timing for blood tests and f you are not aware of this issue check it out! At the end of the day how well you feel is the crucial thing
T3sortedme. Hi thanks for your reply, I had my test done at 9.30 in the morning and fasting.
I am finding my way around the website and have just seen all the other relplies- thanks to everyone, Flower007 I feel s lot better than I did, I suffer from A Fib and was just concerned about the TSH any suggestions on amour if I were to reduce, I was thinking 1/4 grain I am on 1.5 in am and 1.5gr at 3.30pm
Gwelos, the TSH is totally irrelevant at this stage. It is going to be suppressed if you take any form of T3, but it absolutely doesn't matter.
TSH has nothing to do with the heart. Doctors believe it does, but they are wrong.
Hugely long-term over-range T3 might increase your risk of A fib, but not a suppressed TSH.
Looks OK to me.
Free T3 in final 3rd.
If you have Hashi's then i think, you have to switch off your thyroid gland anyway, to stop the antibodies attacking it. Please others with more knowledge than me please correct me if I am wrong.
As Dr Skinner says in his book,"TSH readings are a bind in that any patient on substantive thyroid replacement will finish up with a TSH under 0.5 or even zero and unless someone knows something that I don't know or there is evidence I have never seen, this is inevitable and doesn't matter a hoot; the number of patients who have had their levels of thyroid replacement reduced or even stopped because of low TSH levels is legion and if any colleague can convince me that it's good to keep a patient clinically hypothyroidwith all its diverse consequences just to restore a TSH level, then I'll be then next Pope, not that I am Catholic; nor a Protestant for that matter"
During well years my TSH is exactly that!
If we go by numbers: based only on my personal experience and the AACE 0.3<TSH<3.0 range ... were I in your position, I would like to see TSH no lower than 0.1 and FT3 close to mid-range.
But numbers are irrelevant if you feel well. Do you feel well? And have you tried lowering your dose slightly, to see if you feel better with a slightly higher TSH and lower FT3? Some people say the T3:T4 ratio of 1:4 in NDT provides a higher percentage of T3 than what the healthy human thyroid provides, so NDT suppresses TSH more than is ideal.
Hi no I haven't tried reducing yet, I feel well but if I get hyper symptoms I will. Some say when on NDTthat the TSHshould be totally suppressed. It's very confusing
