How to lose weight?

I have an underactive thyroid following pregnancy in 1999. I now take T4 -175 and T2 30 mcg. I eat a healthy diet and exercise a lot (most days either swimming, walking, running or yoga). I am putting on weight... Can anyone help? Would taking NDT help? Thanks in advance.

Oh sorry that should have been T3 30 mcg not T2!

Sequin, do you have recent thyroid results you can post. Unless you are optimally medicated weight loss can be very difficult even with a healthy calorie controlled diet and exercise.

I do not feel overmedicated at all! Putting on weight, exhausted, brain fog, low mood etc.

Sequin, as you're no doubt aware the symptoms of hyper can be very similar to the symptoms of hypo. Hyper can also make you gain weight, oddly.

Your bloods look a little over to me and as you are not feeling well you might ask your doctor for a dose reduction?

I'm hoping someone else might chip in here. Your FT4 is over range. You might feel better if you reduce it slightly?

Thank you. I don't feel over medicated as I am cold all the time and have many other hypo sympthoms? It doesn't make sense!

Try the Paleo way of eating. Worked for me

Thank you. I am veggie but have tried to increase my protein. Glad it worked well for you.

I'm veggie too so Paleo is no good. Like you I work steadily to increase my protein intake. Lately I've started to add a scoop of unflavoured protein powder to scrambled eggs, vegetable chilli, porridge, soup etc. This strategy effortlessly doubles or even trebles my protein intake xx
